பெலிஸ்தர் கூடிவந்து, சூநேமிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்; சவுலும் இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் கூட்டினான்; அவர்கள் கில்போவாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

அழுகிற இந்தச் சத்தத்தை ஏலி கேட்டபோது: இந்த கூச்சலின் சத்தம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்; அப்பொழுது அந்த மனிதன் விரைவாக வந்து, ஏலிக்கு அறிவித்தான்.

ஏலி 98 வயதுடையவன். அவன் குருடன். என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதை அவனால் காணமுடியவில்லை. ஆனால் அவனால் ஜனங்களின் உரத்த அழுகை சத்தத்தைக் கேட்க முடிந்தது. ஏலி, “ஏன் இவர்கள் இவ்வாறு சத்தமிடுகிறார்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான். பென்யமீன் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவன் ஏலியிடம் ஓடிவந்து நடந்ததைக் கூறினான்.
