பேழையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட நோவாவின் குமாரர், சேம் காம் யாப்பேத் என்பவர்களே. காம் கானானுக்குத் தகப்பன்.

ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவையும் மற்ற ஆசாரியர்களையும் அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் ஆலயத்தை ஏன் பழுதுபார்க்கவில்லை? இனி நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்கள் கையிலே பணத்தை வாங்காமல், அதை ஆலயத்தைப் பழுதுபார்க்கிறதற்காக விட்டுவிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

எனவே யோவாஸ் அரசன் யோய்தா ஆசாரியனையும் மற்ற ஆசாரியர்களையும் அழைத்து, “ஏன் நீங்கள் ஆலயத் திருப்பணிகள் செய்யவில்லை? ஜனங்களிடமிருந்து பணம் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதையும், அவற்றை பயன்படுத்துவதையும் நிறுத்துங்கள். ஜனங்களின் பணம் ஆலயத் திருப்பணிக்கே பயன்பட வேண்டும்” என்றான்.

எனவே, அரசன் யோவாசு குரு யோயாதாவையும் ஏனைய குருக்களையும் வரவழைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி, “நீங்கள் ஏன் கோவிலைப் பழுது பார்க்கவில்லை? உங்களுக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்களிடமிருந்து பணத்தை வாங்கி வைத்துக்கொள்ளாதீர்கள். அதைக் கோவிலைப் பழுதுபார்க்கக் கொடுத்து விடுங்கள்” என்றான்.⒫

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.
