எஸ்தரின் செய்தி மொர்தெகாய்க்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. மொர்தெகாய் அவளது செய்தியைப் படித்து விட்டு, அவன் அவளுக்குப் பதில் அனுப்பினான். அதில், “எஸ்தர், நீ அரசனது அரண் மனையில் வாழ்வதால் யூத பெண்ணாகிய நீ மட்டும் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று நினைக்காதே.
