ஸ்திரீயானவளுக்குப் பிரசவகாலம் வந்திருக்கும்போது அவள் துக்கமடைகிறாள்; பிள்ளைபெற்றவுடனே ஒரு மனுஷன் உலகத்தில் பிறந்தானென்கிற சந்தோஷத்தினால் அப்புறம் உபத்திரவத்தை நினையாள்.

யோசுவா கட்டளையிட்டபடி இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் செய்து, கர்த்தர் யோசுவாவிடம் சொன்னபடியே, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய கோத்திரங்களின் எண்ணிக்கைக்குச் சமமாகப் பன்னிரண்டு கற்களை யோர்தானின் நடுவில் எடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தங்களோடு அக்கரைக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவர்கள் தங்கின இடத்திலே வைத்தார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் யோசுவாவுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தனர். யோர்தான் நதியின் மத்தியிலிருந்து அவர்கள் பன்னிரண்டு கற்களை எடுத்து வந்தனர். இஸ்ரவேலின் பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரத்தினருக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு கல் இருந்தது. கர்த்தர் யோசுவாவுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அவர்கள் இதைச் செய்தனர். அம்மனிதர்கள் கற்களைச் சுமந்து வந்து, அவர்கள் முகாமிட்டிருந்த இடத்தில் அக்கற்களை நாட்டினர்.

யோசுவா கட்டளையிட்டபடி இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் செய்து, கர்த்தர் யோசுவாவோடு சொன்னபடியே, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய கோத்திரங்களின் இலக்கத்திற்குச் சரியாகப் பன்னிரண்டு கற்களை யோர்தானின் நடுவிலே எடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தங்களோடேகூட அக்கரைக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், தாங்கள் தங்கின இடத்திலே வைத்தார்கள்.
