সেদিন মন্দিরে থেকে রাজা শলোমন ও ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা এই ভাবে ছুটিউদযাপন করেছিল| উত্তরে হমাতের প্রবেশ দ্বার থেকে দক্ষিণে মিশর পর্য়ন্ত ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত বাসিন্দাই সেদিন সেখানে উপস্থিত ছিল| তারা সাতদিন ধরে পানাহার, উত্সব ও স্ফূর্তির মধ্যে দিয়ে প্রভুর সঙ্গে সময় কাটাল| তারপর আরো সাতদিন সেখানে থাকল| অর্থাত্ একটানা 14 দিন ধরে তারা উত্সব করল|
