এরপর তারা আম্ফিপলি ও অপল্লোনিয়ার ভেতর দিয়ে থিসলনীকীতে এলেন৷ এখানে ইহুদীদের একটি সমাজ-গৃহ ছিল৷

থিষলনীকীয় লোকদের থেকে এই লোকেরা আরো উদার মনোভাবাপন্ন ছিল৷ এরা আগ্রহের সঙ্গে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য শুনল৷ পৌল সীলের বক্তব্যের বিষয় সত্য কিনা তা মিলিয়ে দেখার জন্য তারা প্রতিদিন শাস্ত্রের মধ্যে অনুসন্ধান করতে লাগল৷

বিশ্রামবারে আমরা শহরের ফটকের বাইরে নদীর ধারে গেলাম, মনে করলাম সেখানে নিশ্চয়ই কোন প্রার্থনার জায়গা আছে৷ আর সেখানে য়ে সব স্ত্রীলোক সমবেত হয়েছিলেন, আমরা তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে শুরু করলাম৷

তাদের এবিষয়ে নিবৃত্ত হওয়া প্রযোজন, কারণ সেই আদিকাল থেকেই প্রতিটি শহরে ইহুদীদের সমাজ-গৃহে এখনও মোশির এমন লোক আছে, যাঁরা তাঁকে অর্থাত্ তাঁর বিধি-ব্যবস্থার কথা প্রচার করে৷ তাছাড়া প্রতি বিশ্রামবারে ইহুদীদের সমাজ-গৃহে মোশির বিধি-ব্যবস্থা পাঠ করা হয়৷’

এরপর পৌল ও বার্ণবা ইকনিয়ে গেলেন৷ সেখানে তাঁরা তাঁদের কাজের পদ্ধতি অনুযাযী সেই একইভাবে ইহুদীদের সমাজ-গৃহে প্রবেশ করলেন৷ সেখানকার লোকদের কাছে পৌল ও বার্ণবা এতো সুন্দরভাবে কথা বললেন, য়ে অনেক ইহুদী ও গ্রীক তাঁদের কথায় বিশ্বাস করল৷
