Deuteronomy 4:10
মনে করো সে দিনের কথা, য়েদিন হোরেব পর্বতে তোমরা তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের সম্মুখে দাঁড়িয়েছিলে| প্রভু আমাকে বলেছিলেন, ‘আমি যা বলি, সেগুলো শোনার জন্য সমস্ত লোকদের এক জায়গায় জড়ো করো| তখন তারা যতদিন এই পৃথিবীতে বাঁচবে ততদিন আমাকে সম্মান করতে শিখবে এবং তারা তাদের সন্তানদের এগুলো শেখাবে|’

এই বইতে যা লেখা তার থেকে কি শিক্ষা আমরা নেবো? মানুষের কাছে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজ হল ঈশ্বরকে শ্রদ্ধা করা ও তার আদেশ মান্য করা| কেন? কারণ মানুষ যা কিছু করে ঈশ্বর তা জানেন, সেটা গুপ্ত কিছু হলেও ঈশ্বর তা জানেন|

তবে তোমরা অবশ্যই প্রভুকে সম্মান করবে| তোমাদের জন্যে তিনি যে সব মহত্ কর্ম করেছেন সেগুলো মনে রাখবে|
Deuteronomy 31:12
সকল পুরুষ, স্ত্রীলোক, শিশুদের এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে বাসকারী বিদেশীদের অবশ্যই একসাথে জড়ো করবে| তারা এই সব শিক্ষা শুনবে ও তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরকে সম্মান করতে শিখবে| তখন তারা ব্যবস্থার য়ে য়ে বিষয় আছে তার সবই পালন করতে পারবে|

রাজা তার কাছে এই বইটি রাখবে এবং সারা জীবন অবশ্যই সেই বইটি পড়বে| কারণ প্রভু, তার ঈশ্বরকে, কিভাবে সম্মান জানাতে হয় তা রাজার শেখা উচিত্ এবং বিধিগুলি পুরোপুরি মেনে চলাও রাজার অবশ্য কর্তব্য|
Deuteronomy 14:23
এরপর প্রভু য়ে জায়গাটিকে তাঁর বিশেষ বাসস্থান হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করেছেন, সেখানে তোমরা যাবে| সেই স্থানে তোমরা তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের উপস্থিতিতে তোমাদের দানা শস্যের, তোমাদের নতুন দ্রাক্ষারসের, তোমাদের তেলের এবং তোমাদের পশুর দলের মধ্যে প্রথম জাত পশুদের এক দশমাংশ ভোজন করবে| এই প্রকারে তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের সম্মান দেখানোর কথা সব সময় মনে রাখবে|
Deuteronomy 5:29
আমার ইচ্ছা তারা য়েন হৃদয়ের মধ্য থেকে সর্বদাই আমাকে সম্মান করে এবং আমার সমস্ত আদেশগুলো মেনে চলে| তাহলে তাদের এবং তাদের উত্তরপুরুষদের পক্ষে সমস্ত কিছুই চিরকালের জন্য ভালো হবে|
