তারপর তিনি কত বড়লোক তা নিয়ে, তাঁর পুত্রদের সংখ্যা নিয়ে ও রাজা তাঁকে কি ভাবে খাতির করেন তা নিয়ে বড়াই করতে শুরু করলেন| রাজা য়ে তাঁকে রাজ্যের সর্বোচচ পদটি দিয়েছেন একথাও তিনি জানাতে ভুললেন না|

তখন তিনি রাণী ইষ্টেরকে বললেন, “হামনের 10 পুত্র সহ 500 জনকে ইহুদীরা শূশনে হত্যা করেছে| এবার বলো রাজ্যের অন্যান্য প্রদেশে তুমি কি চাও? তুমি আমাকে যা বলবে আমি তাই করবো|”
