তাঁরা বিধিপুস্তকটি থেকে পাঠ করলেন এবং সহজ ভাষায় সেটি লোকদের বুঝিয়ে দিলেন যাতে যা পড়া হল তারা তার অর্থ বুঝতে পারে|

| in the law | בְּתוֹרַ֥ת | bĕtôrat | beh-toh-RAHT |
| of God | הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים | hāʾĕlōhîm | ha-ay-loh-HEEM |
| distinctly, | מְפֹרָ֑שׁ | mĕpōrāš | meh-foh-RAHSH |
| and gave | וְשׂ֣וֹם | wĕśôm | veh-SOME |
| the sense, | שֶׂ֔כֶל | śekel | SEH-hel |
| understand to them caused and | וַיָּבִ֖ינוּ | wayyābînû | va-ya-VEE-noo |
| the reading. | בַּמִּקְרָֽא׃ | bammiqrāʾ | ba-meek-RA |
