James 1
1 আমি যাকোব, ঈশ্বর ও প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের দাস, নানা দেশে ছড়িয়ে থাকা ঈশ্বরের বারো গোষ্ঠীর লোকদের শুভেচ্ছা জানাচ্ছি৷
2 আমার ভাই ও বোনেরা, তোমরা যখন নানারকম প্রলোভনের মধ্যে পড়, তখন তা মহা আনন্দের বিষয় বলে মনে কর৷
3 একথা জেনো, এই সকল বিষয় তোমাদের বিশ্বাসের পরীক্ষা করে ও তোমাদের ধৈর্য্যগুণ বাড়িয়ে দেয়৷
4 সেই ধৈর্য্যগুণকে তোমাদের জীবনে পুরোপুরিভাবে কাজ করতে দাও৷ এর ফলে তোমরা নিখুঁত ও সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে উঠবে এবং কোন বিষয়ে তোমাদের কোন অভাব থাকবে না৷
5 তোমাদের কারোর যদি প্রজ্ঞার অভাব হয়, তবে সে তার জন্যে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করুক৷ ঈশ্বর দয়াবান; তিনি সকলকে উদারভাবে এবং আনন্দের সঙ্গে দেন৷ অতএব ঈশ্বর তোমাদের প্রজ্ঞা প্রদান করবেন৷
6 কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের কাছে চাইতে হলে কোনরকম সন্দেহ না রেখে সম্পূর্ণ বিশ্বাসের সঙ্গেই তা চাইতে হবে, কারণ য়ে সন্দেহ করে, সে ঝোড়ো হাওয়ায় আলোড়িত উত্তাল সমুদ্র তরঙ্গের মতো৷
7 এই প্রকার লোক দুই মনের মানুষ, প্রত্যেকটি কাজেই চঞ্চল ও অস্থির৷
8 এমন লোকের মনে করা উচিত নয় য়ে প্রভুর কাছে সে কিছু পাবে৷
9 য়ে বিশ্বাসী ভাই গরীব, সে গর্ব অনুভব করুক, কারণ ঈশ্বর তাকে আত্মিকভাবে উন্নত করেছেন৷
10 য়ে বিশ্বাসী ভাই ধনী, সে গর্ব বোধ করুক, কারণ ঈশ্বর তাকে দেখিয়েছেন য়ে সে আত্মিকভাবে দরিদ্র৷ ধনী ব্যক্তি একদিন বুনো ফুলের মতো ঝরে যাবে৷
11 সূর্য় ওঠার পর তার তাপ ক্রমশঃ বেড়েই যায়, তাপে তৃণ ঝলসে যায় ও ফুল ঝরে যায়৷ ফুল সুন্দর হলেও তার রূপের বাহার বিলীন হয়ে যায়, তেমনি ঘটে ধনী ব্যক্তির জীবনে৷ তার কাজের পরিকল্পনাকালেই সে হঠাত্ মৃত্যুমুখে পড়ে৷
12 পরীক্ষার সময়ে য়ে ধৈর্য্য ধরে ও স্থির থাকে সে ধন্য, কারণ বিশ্বাসের পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হলে ঈশ্বর তাকে পুরস্কার স্বরূপ অনন্ত জীবন দেবেন৷ ঈশ্বরকে যাঁরা ভালবাসে তাদের তিনি এই জীবন দেবার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন৷
13 কেউ যখন প্রলুদ্ধ হয় তখন য়েন সে না বলে, ‘ঈশ্বর আমাকে প্রলুদ্ধ করেছেন৷’ মন্দ ঈশ্বরকে প্রলোভিত করতে পারে না এবং ঈশ্বরও নিজে কাউকে প্রলোভনে ফেলেন না৷
14 প্রত্যেক মানুষ তার নিজের মন্দ অভিলাষের দ্বারা প্রলোভিত হয়৷ তার মন্দ ইচ্ছা তাকে পাপের দিকে টেনে নিয়ে যায় এবং ফাঁদে ফেলে৷
15 এই মন্দ ইচ্ছা গর্ভবতী হয়ে পাপের জন্ম দেয় এবং পাপ পূর্ণতা লাভ করে মৃত্যুর জন্ম দেয়৷
16 আমার প্রিয় ভাই ও বোনেরা, এ ব্যাপারে তোমরা প্রতারিত হযো না৷
17 সমস্ত ভাল ও নিখুঁত দান স্বর্গ থেকে আসে, কারণ পিতা ঈশ্বর যিনি স্বর্গীয় আলো সৃষ্টি করেছিলেন তিনি সর্বদা একই আছেন; তাঁর কোনও পরিবর্তন হয় না৷
18 ঈশ্বর তাঁর নিজের ইচ্ছায় সত্যের বাক্য়ের মধ্য দিয়ে আমাদের জীবন দিয়েছেন৷ তিনি চান য়েন তাঁর সমস্ত সৃষ্টির মধ্যে আমরা অগ্রগন্য হই৷
19 আমার প্রিয় ভাই ও বোনেরা, তোমরা শ্রবণে সত্বর কিন্তু কথনে ধীর হও৷ চট করে রেগে য়েও না৷
20 ক্রোধ কখনই ঈশ্বরের প্রত্যাশা অনুযাযী সত্ জীবন যাপনের সহায়ক হতে পারে না৷
21 তাই তোমাদের জীবন থেকে সব রকমের অপবিত্রতা ও যা কিছু মন্দ যা তোমাদের চারপাশে রয়েছে তাকে দূরে সরিয়ে দাও; আর নম্রভাবে ঈশ্বরের শিক্ষা গ্রহণ কর যা তিনি তোমাদের হৃদয়ে বপন করেছেন৷
22 ঈশ্বরের বাক্য অনুসারে কাজ কর, শুনে কিছু না করে বসে থাকলে চলবে না৷ শুধুমাত্র ঈশ্বরের বাক্যের শ্রোতা হয়ে নিজেকে ঠকিও না৷
23 যদি কেউ শুধুমাত্র ঈশ্বরের বাক্য়ের শ্রোতাই হয় আর সেই মতো কাজ না করে, তবে সে এমন একজন লোকের মতো য়ে আয়নার দিকে তাকায়,
24 নিজেকে দেখে এবং চলে যাবার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সে নিজে কেমন দেখতে তা ভুলে যায়৷
25 কিন্তু সেই ব্যক্তি প্রকৃত সুখী য়ে ঈশ্বরের বিধি-ব্যবস্থা, যা মানুষের কাছে মুক্তি নিয়ে আসে তা ভালভাবে অধ্যয়ন করতে থাকে ও তা পালন করে এবং যা শ্রবন করে তা ভুলে যায় না, এই বাধ্যতা তাকে সুখী করে তোলে৷
26 যদি কোন ব্যক্তি নিজেকে ধার্মিক মনে করে, অথচ নিজের মুখ না সামলায় তবে, সে নিজেকে ঠকায়, তার ‘ধার্মিকতা’ মূল্যহীন৷
27 য়ে ধার্মিকতা ঈশ্বর বিশুদ্ধ ও খাঁটি হিসেবে অনুমোদন করেন তা হল অনাথ ও বিধবাদের দুঃখ কষ্টে দেখাশোনা করা এবং নিজেকে পৃথিবীর মন্দ প্রভাব থেকে দূরে রাখা৷
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
John 4 in Tamil and English
1 ହନଙ୍କ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଯୀଶୁ ଅଧିକ ଶିଷ୍ଯ କରୁଥିବାରୁ ଓ ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ଦେଉଥିବାର ଖବର ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ଶୁଣିଲେ।
When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାପ୍ତିସ୍ମ ଦେଉ ନଥିଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବାପ୍ତିସ୍ମ ଦେଉଥିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ଜାଣିଥିଲେ ଯେ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧ ରେ ଶୁଣିଛନ୍ତି।
(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
3 ତେଣୁ ସେ ସେତବେେଳେ ୟିହୂଦା ପ୍ରଦେଶ ଛାଡି ପୁଣି ଥରେ ଗାଲୀଲୀକୁ ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 ଯୀଶୁ ଗାଲୀଲୀ ଗଲା ବେଳେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଶମିରୋଣ ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ବାଟ ଦଇେ ୟିବାକୁ ହେଲା।
And he must needs go through Samaria.
5 ଯୀଶୁ ଶମିରୋଣର ସୁଖାର ରେ ଆସି ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ। ଏହି ନଗରଟି ଯାକୁବ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ୟୋ ସଫଙ୍କେୁ ଦଇେଥିବା ଜମି ପାଖ ରେ ଥିଲା।
Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ କୂଅ ସଠାେରେ ଥିଲା। ଯୀଶୁ ଚାଲି ଚାଲି କ୍ଲାନ୍ତ ହାଇେ ପଡିଥିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସେ କୂଅ ପାଖ ରେ ବସି ପଡିଲେ। ଏହା ମଧ୍ଯାହ୍ନ ସମୟ ଥିଲା।
Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 ସତେିକି ବେଳେ ଜଣେ ଶମିରୋଣୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ସହେି କୂଅରୁ ପାଣି ନବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆସିଲା। ଯୀଶୁ ତାକୁ କହିଲେ, ମାେତେ ଦୟାକରି ମୁନ୍ଦେ ପାଣି ପିଇବାକୁ ଦିଅ।
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 ସେ ସମୟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ କିଛି ଖାଦ୍ୟ କିଣିବା ପାଇଁ ନଗରକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲେ।
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 ସହେି ଶମିରୋଣୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଜଣକ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ମୁଁ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ହେଉଛି ଯେ ଆପଣ ମାେତେ ପାଣି ପିଇବାକୁ ମାଗୁଛନ୍ତି। ଆପଣ ଜଣେ ଯିହୂଦୀ ଓ ମୁଁ ଜଣେ ଶମିରୋଣୀଯା ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ। ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ ଶମିରୋଣୀୟଙ୍କ ସହିତ ବନ୍ଧୁତା କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଦେଉଥିବା ଜିନିଷ ବିଷୟ ରେ ଜାଣି ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଜଳ ମାଗୁଥିବା ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି, ଅର୍ଥାତ ମୁଁ କିଏ ତାହା ମଧ୍ଯ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଜାଣି ନାହିଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯଦି ଏସବୁ କଥା ଜାଣିଥାନ୍ତ ତବେେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେତେ ମାଗନ୍ତ ଓ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଜଳ ଦିଅନ୍ତି।
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 ସହେି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଟି କହିଲା, ମହାଶୟ, ଆପଣ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ସହେି ଜୀବନ୍ତ ଜଳ ପାଇବେ? କୂଅତ ଅତି ଗଭୀର ଓ ପାଣି କାଢିବା ପାଇଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପାଖ ରେ କିଛି ନାହିଁ।
The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 ଆପଣ କ'ଣ ଆମ ପୂର୍ବପୁରୁଷ ଯାକୁବଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ଶ୍ ରେଷ୍ଠ? ଯାକୁବ ହିଁ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଏହି କୂଅ ଦଇେଥିଲେ। ସେ ନିଜେ ଏହି କୂଅରୁ ଜଳ ପିଉଥିଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନେ ଓ ସବୁ ପଶୁମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଏହି କୂଅରୁ ଜଳ ପିଉଥିଲେ।
Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଲୋକ ଏହି ଜଳ ପାନ କରିବା ପରେ ପୁଣି ତୃଷାର୍ତ୍ତ ହବେ।
Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ଯେଉଁ ଜଳ ପିଇବାକୁ ଦବେି, ତାହା ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ପିଇବ ସେ କଦାପି ତୃଷାର୍ତ୍ତ ହବେ ନାହିଁ। ମୁଁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଜଳ ଦବେି, ତାହା ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ଜଳର ଝର ସ୍ବରୁପେ ସର୍ବଦା ପ୍ରବାହିତ ହବେ।
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକଟି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ମହାଶୟ, ମାେତେ ସହେି ଜଳ ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ। ମୁଁ ଆଉ ଯେପରି ଆଉ କବେେ ତୃଷାର୍ତ୍ତ ହବେି ନାହିଁ। ମାେତେ ଏଠାକୁ ଆଉ କବେେ ଜଳ ନବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆସିବାକୁ ପଡିବ ନାହିଁ।
The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 ଯୀଶୁ ତାକୁ କହିଲେ, ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ସ୍ବାମୀଙ୍କୁ ଡାକି ଏଠାକୁ ଆସ।
Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଟି କହିଲା, କିନ୍ତୁ ମାରେ ସ୍ବାମୀ ନାହିଁ।
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାଞ୍ଚଜଣ ସ୍ବାମୀ ଥିଲେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ସହିତ ରହିଛ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସ୍ବାମୀ ନୁହେଁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମାେତେ ସତ୍ଯ କହିଲ।
For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଟି କହିଲା, ମହାଶୟ, ମୁଁ ଜାଣିପାରୁଛି, ଆପଣ ଜଣେ ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତା।
The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 ଆମ୍ଭର ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଏହି ପର୍ବତ ରେ ଉପାସନା କରୁଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ କୁହନ୍ତି ଯେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ହେଉଛି ଉପାସନା କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତି ଯଥାର୍ଥ ସ୍ଥାନ।
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, ହେ ନାରୀ, ମାେତେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କର। ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଛି ଯେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ପରମପିତାଙ୍କର ଉପାସନା ଏ ପର୍ବତ ରେ କି ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ରେ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶମିରୋଣୀୟମାନେ କିଛି ନଜାଣି ନବୁଝି ଉପାସନା କର। କିନ୍ତୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯିହୂଦୀମାନେ କାହାକୁ ଉପାସନା କରୁ, ସବୁ ଜାଣୁ। ଯୀହୂଦୀମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ପରିତ୍ରାଣ ଏ ଜଗତକୁ ଆ ସେ।
Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 ଏପରି ସମୟ ଆସୁଛି, ଯେତବେେଳେ ପ୍ରକୃତ ଉପାସକ ମାନେ ପରମପିତାଙ୍କୁ ଆତ୍ମା ଓ ସତ୍ଯ ରେ ଉପାସନା କରିବେ। ସହେି ସମୟ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ। ସହେିଭଳି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ପରମପିତା ନିଜର ଉପାସକ ରୂପେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହାଁନ୍ତି।
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 ପରମେଶ୍ବର ହିଁ ଆତ୍ମା। ତେଣୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବହଙ୍କ ଉପାସନା କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ଆତ୍ମା ଓ ସତ୍ଯ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଉପାସନା କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 ସହେି ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଲୋକଟା କହିଲା, ମୁଁ ଜାଣେ ଯେ ମଶୀହ ଆସୁଛନ୍ତି। ଯେତବେେଳେ ମଶୀହ ଆସିବେ, ସେତବେେଳେ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସବୁ କଥା ବୁଝାଇ ଦବେେ।
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାକୁ କହିଲେ, ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା କରୁଛି। ସେ ନିଜେ ମଶୀହ ଅଟେ।
Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 ସହେି ସମୟରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କର ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ନଗରରୁ ଫରେିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ସହିତ କଥା ହବୋ ଦେଖି ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯ ହାଇଗେଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ କହେି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଏପରି କିଛି ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ ପଚାରିଲେ ନାହିଁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କ'ଣ ଚାହଁ? କିମ୍ବା ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ତା ସହିତ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା ହେଉଛ?
And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 ତା'ପରେ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ତା କଳସୀ ପାଣି ଛାଡି ନଗରକୁ ଚାଲିଗଲା। ସଠାେରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ସେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା,
The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 ମୁଁ ଯାହା କିଛିକରିଛି, ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ କଥା ମାେତେ ଜଣେ ଲୋକ କହି ଦେଲେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସହେି ଲୋକକୁ ଦେଖିବ ଆସ। ସେ ବୋଧେ ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେ ପାରନ୍ତି।
Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 ତେଣୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ନଗର ଛାଡି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଗଲେ।
Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକଟି ନଗର ରେ ଥିବା ସମୟରେ, ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କଲେ, ଗୁରୁ କିଛି ଭୋଜନ କରନ୍ତୁ।
In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ମାେ ପାଖ ରେ ଏପରି ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଅଛି, ଯାହା ବିଷୟ ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଜାଣ ନାହିଁ।
But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
33 ତେଣୁ ଶିଷ୍ଯମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ମଧିଅରେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା ହେଲେ, ତାହାଙ୍କ ଲାଗି କିଏ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଆଣିଲା କି?
Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 ଯୀଶୁ କହିଲେ, ଯେଉଁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ ପଠାଇଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କର ଇଚ୍ଛା ପାଳନ କରିବା ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବା ହେଉଛି ମାରେଆହାର।
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଯେତବେେଳେ କିଛି ରୋପଣ କର ସେତବେେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସର୍ବଦା କୁହ, 'ଶସ୍ଯ କଟା ହବୋ ପାଇଁ ଆହୁରି ଚାରି ମାସ ବାକି ଅଛି।' କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କହୁଛି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଆଖି ଖୋଲ। ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖ। ସମାନେେ ଅମଳ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରତୁଲ୍ଯ ଅଟନ୍ତି।
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମଧ୍ଯ ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଶସ୍ଯ କାଟେ ତାକୁ ମଜୁରି ଦିଆ ଯାଉଛି। ସେ ଅନନ୍ତ ଜୀବନ ପାଇଁ ଶସ୍ଯ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରୁଛି। ତେଣୁ ବୁଣାଳି ଓ କଟାଳି ଉଭୟ ମିଳି ଆନନ୍ଦିତ କରିବେ।
And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 କଥା ରେ ଅଛି, 'ଜଣେ ଲୋକ ବୁଣେ ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ୟ ଜଣେ ଫସଲ କାଟେ', ଏହି ଉକ୍ତିଟି ସତ୍ଯ।
And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାହା ବୁଣି ନଥିଲ ତାହା କାଟିବା ପାଇଁ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ପଠାଇଥିଲି ା ଅନ୍ୟ ଲୋକମାନେ କାମ କଲେ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ କାମରୁ ଲାଭ ପାଇଲ।
I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
39 ସେ ସହରର ଶମିରୋଣୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଭିତରୁ ଅନକେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ। ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ବିଷୟ ରେ ଯାହା କହିଥିଲା ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସମାନେେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ। ସେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କହିଲା, ଯୀଶୁ ମାେତେ ମୁଁ କରିଥିବା ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଘଟଣାମାନ କହିଲେ।
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
40 ଶମିରୋଣୀୟମାନେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଗଲେ। ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ସହିତ କିଛି ଦିନ ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁ ରୋଧ କଲେ। ତେଣୁ ଯୀଶୁ ସଠାେରେ ଦୁଇ ଦିନ ରହିଲେ।
So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
41 ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ବାଣୀ ଶୁଣି ବହୁତ ଲୋକ ତାହାଙ୍କଠା ରେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ।
And many more believed because of his own word;
42 ଲୋକମାନେ ସେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ କହିଲେ, ପ୍ରଥମେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭ କଥା ଶୁଣି ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରିଥିଲୁ କିନ୍ତୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଜେ ତାହାଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣି ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରୁଛୁ। ଆମ୍ଭେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଜାଣୁଛୁ ଯେ ସେ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ପ୍ରକୃତ ରେ ଜଗତର ତ୍ରାଣକର୍ତ୍ତା।
And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
43 ସଠାେରେ ଦୁଇଦିନ ରହିବା ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଗାଲୀଲୀକୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ।
Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
44 ଯୀଶୁ ପୂର୍ବରୁ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ ଜଣେ ଭାବବାଦୀ ନିଜ ଦେଶ ରେ ସମ୍ମାନ ପାଏନାହିଁ।
For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.
45 ପୁଣି ଯୀଶୁ ଯେତବେେଳେ ଗାଲୀଲୀ ରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ, ସଠାେରେ ଲୋକେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ବାଗତ କଲେ। ପୂର୍ବରୁ ୟିରୂଶାଲମ ରେ ନିସ୍ତାରପର୍ବ ବେଳେ ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କର କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ସବୁ ଦେଖିଥିଲେ। ସହେି ଲୋକମାନେ ପର୍ବ ସମୟରେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ।
Then when he was come into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.
46 ଯୀଶୁ ଗାଲୀଲର କାନା ନଗରକୁ ପୁଣି ଥରେ ଗଲେ। କାନ୍ନା ରେ ସେ ଜଳକୁ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ରେ ପରିଣତ କରିଥିଲେ। ରାଜାଙ୍କର ଜଣେ ମୁଖ୍ଯକର୍ମଚାରୀ କଫର୍ନାହୂମ ନଗର ରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏହି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଅସୁସ୍ଥ ଥିଲା।
So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 ସହେି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଶୁଣିଲେ ଯେ ଯୀଶୁ ୟିହୂଦା ପ୍ରଦେଶରୁ ଆସିଛନ୍ତି ଓ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଗାଲୀରୀ ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ସେ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି କାନା ରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ଦଖାେ କଲେ। କଫର୍ନାହୂମକୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରକୁ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କୁ ନିବଦନେ କଲେ। ତାହାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ମୃତ ପ୍ରାୟ ହଇେଥିଲେ।
When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଅଲୌକିକ ଓ ଅଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯଜନକ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯମାନ ନ ଦେଖିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମାେତେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କରିବ ନାହିଁ।
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 ରାଜକର୍ମଚାରୀଜଣକ କହିଲେ, ମହାଶୟ, ମାେ ପୁତ୍ର ମରିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଆପଣ ମାେ ଘରକୁ ଆସନ୍ତୁ।
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 ଯୀଶୁ ଉତ୍ତର ଦେଲେ, ଯାଅ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୁଅ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 ଘରକୁ ୟିବା ବାଟରେ ତାହାଙ୍କର କେତଜେଣ ଚାକର ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଭଟେିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୁଅ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେଲାଣି।
And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 ପିଲାର ଅବସ୍ଥା କେଉଁ ସମୟଠାରୁ ଭଲ ଆଡକୁ ଗତି କଲା? ସେ ପଚାରିଲେ।
Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୁଅ ବଞ୍ଚିବ, ବୋଲି ଯୀଶୁ ଠିକ୍ ସହେି ସମୟରେ କହିଥିଲେ, ଏହା ପିଲାର ବାପା ଜାଣିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସହେି ରାଜକର୍ମଚାରୀ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କଠା ରେ ବିଶ୍ବାସ କଲେ।
So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 ୟିହୂଦା ପ୍ରଦେଶରୁ ଗାଲିଲୀକୁ ଆସିବା ପରେ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କର ଏହା ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯକାର୍ୟ୍ଯ ଥିଲା।
This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
