পীলাত তৃতীয় বার তাদের বললেন, ‘কেন? এই লোক কি অপরাধ করেছে? মৃত্যুদণ্ড দেবার মতো কোন দোষই তো এর আমি দেখছি না, তাই একে আমি চাবুক মেরে ছেড়ে দেব৷’
