Psalm 1
1 একজন ব্যক্তি প্রকৃত সুখী হবে যদি সে মন্দ লোকের পরামর্শে না চলে, যদি সে পাপীদের মত জীবনযাপন না করে, যদি সে তাদের সঙ্গে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ না করে - যারা ঈশ্বরকে অশ্রদ্ধা করে|
2 একজন সত্ ব্যক্তি প্রভুর শিক্ষাকে ভালোবাসে| সে প্রভুর শিক্ষা বিষযে দিনরাত চিন্তা করে|
3 এই জন্য সেই ব্যক্তি নদীর ধারে পোঁতা গাছের মত শক্ত ও দৃঢ় হয়| য়ে গাছ ঠিক সময় ফল দেয়, সেই লোক সেই গাছের মত হয়| সেই লোক, সেই গাছের মতই হয়, যার পাতা কোনদিন ঝরে যায় না| সে যা কিছু করে, সবই সফল হয়|
4 মন্দ লোকরা সে রকম নয়| মন্দ লোকরা বাতাসে উড়িযে নিয়ে যাওয়া তুষের মত|
5 সত্ লোকরা যদি একটা বিচারের সিদ্ধান্ত নেবার জন্য একত্রিত হয়, তবে মন্দ লোকরা অপরাধী হিসেবেই প্রমাণিত হবে| সেই পাপীরা, বিচারে সরল নিষ্পাপ বলে প্রমাণিত হবে না|
6 কেন? কারণ প্রভু সত্ লোকদের রক্ষা করেন, কিন্তু মন্দ লোকদের বিনাশ করেন|
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
