1 பெலிஸ்தர் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைப் பிடித்து, அதை எபெனேசரிலிருந்து அஸ்தோத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள். And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

2 பெலிஸ்தர் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியைப் பிடித்து, தாகோனின் கோவிலிலே கொண்டுவந்து, தாகோனண்டையிலே வைத்தார்கள். When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

3 அஸ்தோத் ஊரார் மறுநாள் காலமே எழுந்திருந்து வந்தபோது, இதோ, தாகோன் கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டிக்கு முன்பாகத் தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்துகிடந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தாகோனை எடுத்து, அதை அதின் ஸ்தானத்திலே திரும்பவும் நிறுத்தினார்கள். And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

5 ஆதலால் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் தாகோனின் பூஜாசாரிகளும் தாகோனின் கோவிலுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிற யாவரும் அஸ்தோத்திலிருக்கிற தாகோனுடைய வாசற்படியை மிதிக்கிறதில்லை. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

6 அஸ்தோத் ஊராரைப் பாழாக்கும் படிக்கு கர்த்தருடைய கை அவர்கள் மேல் பாரமாயிருந்தது; அவர் அஸ்தோத்தின் ஜனங்களையும், அதின் எல்லைகளுக்குள் இருக்கிறவர்களையும் மூலவியாதியினால் வாதித்தார். But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

7 இப்படி நடந்ததை அஸ்தோத்தின் ஜனங்கள் கண்டபோது; இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய கை நமது மேலும், நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய தாகோனின்மேலும் கடினமாயிருக்கிறபடியால், அவருடைய பெட்டி நம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கலாகாது என்று சொல்லி; And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

8 பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகளையெல்லாம் அழைப்பித்து, தங்களண்டையிலே கூடிவரச் செய்து: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை நாம் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டார்கள். அவர்கள்: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை காத் பட்டணமட்டும் எடுத்துச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு போகவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்; அப்படியே இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்துச் சுற்றிக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள். They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

9 அதை எடுத்துச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு போனபின்பு, கர்த்தருடைய கை அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின்மேல் மகா உக்கிரமாக இறங்கிற்று; அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் மனுஷருக்குள், சிறியவர் துவக்கிப் பெரியவர்மட்டும், மூலவியாதியை உண்டாக்கி, அவர்களை வாதித்தார். And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

10 அதினால் அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எக்ரோனுக்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்; தேவனுடைய பெட்டி எக்ரோனுக்கு வருகிறபோது, எக்ரோன் ஊரார்: எங்களையும் எங்கள் ஜனங்களையும் கொன்றுபோட, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து, எங்களண்டைக்குச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள் என்று கூக்குரலிட்டார்கள். Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

12 செத்துப்போகாதிருந்தவர்கள் மூலவியாதியினால் வாதிக்கப்பட்டதினால், அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின் கூக்குரல் வானபரியந்தம் எழும்பிற்று. And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

1 Pelisthar thaevanutaiya pettiyaip pitiththu, athai epenaesarilirunthu asthoththirkuk konnduponaarkal. And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.

2 Pelisthar thaevanutaiya pettiyaip pitiththu, thaakonin kovililae konnduvanthu, thaakonanntaiyilae vaiththaarkal. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.

3 Asthoth ooraar maraுnaal kaalamae elunthirunthu vanthapothu, itho, thaakon karththarutaiya pettikku munpaakath tharaiyilae mukanguppura vilunthukidanthathu; appoluthu avarkal thaakonai eduththu, athai athin sthaanaththilae thirumpavum niraுththinaarkal. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.

4 Avarkal maraுnaal kaalamae elunthirunthu vanthapothu, itho, thaakon karththarutaiya pettikku munpaakath tharaiyilae mukanguppura vilunthukidanthathumallaamal, thaakonin thalaiyum athin iranndu kaikalum vaasarpatiyinmael utaipattuk kidanthathu; thaakonukku udalmaaththiram meethiyaayirunthathu. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.

5 Aathalaal innaalvaraikkum thaakonin poojaasaarikalum thaakonin kovilukkul piravaesikkira yaavarum asthoththilirukkira thaakonutaiya vaasarpatiyai mithikkirathillai. Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

6 Asthoth ooraaraip paalaakkum patikku karththarutaiya kai avarkal mael paaramaayirunthathu; avar asthoththin janangalaiyum, athin ellaikalukkul irukkiravarkalaiyum moolaviyaathiyinaal vaathiththaar. But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

7 Ippati nadanthathai asthoththin janangal kanndapothu; isravaelin thaevanutaiya kai namathu maelum, nammutaiya thaevanaakiya thaakoninmaelum katinamaayirukkirapatiyaal, avarutaiya petti nammidaththil irukkalaakaathu entu solli; And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

8 Pelistharin athipathikalaiyellaam alaippiththu, thangalanntaiyilae kootivarach seythu: isravaelin thaevanutaiya pettiyai naam enna seyyavaenndum entu kaettarkal. Avarkal: isravaelin thaevanutaiya pettiyai kaath pattanamattum eduththuch suttikkonndu pokavaenndum entarkal; appatiyae isravaelin thaevanutaiya pettiyai eduththuch suttik konnduponaarkal. They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.

9 Athai eduththuch suttikkonndu ponapinpu, karththarutaiya kai anthap pattanaththinmael makaa ukkiramaaka irangittaு; anthap pattanaththin manusharukkul, siriyavar thuvakkip periyavarmattum, moolaviyaathiyai unndaakki, avarkalai vaathiththaar. And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

10 Athinaal avarkal thaevanutaiya pettiyai ekronukku anuppinaarkal; thaevanutaiya petti ekronukku varukirapothu, ekron ooraar: engalaiyum engal janangalaiyum kontupoda, isravaelin thaevanutaiya pettiyai eduththu, engalanntaikkuch suttikkonndu vanthaarkal entu kookkuralittarkal. Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.

11 Avarkal pelistharin athipathikalaiyellaam kooti varum pati alaiththu: isravaelin Dhevan engalaiyum engal janangalaiyum kontupodaathapatikku, avarutaiya pettiyai athin sthaanaththirkuth thirumpa anuppividungal entarkal; anthap pattanamengum saavu mummuramaayirunthathu; thaevanutaiya kai angae makaa paaramaayirunthathu. So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.

12 Seththuppokaathirunthavarkal moolaviyaathiyinaal vaathikkappattathinaal, anthap pattanaththin kookkural vaanapariyantham elumpittaு. And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
