1 தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய புத்திரரில் ஒருவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ எலிசாவைப் பார்த்து: உமது அடியானாகிய என் புருஷன் இறந்து போனான்; உமது அடியான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து நடந்தான் என்பதை அறிவீர்; கடன்கொடுத்தவன் இப்போது என் இரண்டு குமாரரையும் தனக்கு அடிமைகளாக்கிக் கொள்ள வந்தான் என்றான். Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2 எலிசா அவளை நோக்கி: நான் உனக்கு என்னசெய்ய வேண்டும்? வீட்டில் உன்னிடத்தில் என்ன இருக்கிறது சொல் என்றான். அதற்கு அவள்: ஒரு குடம் எண்ணெய் அல்லாமல் உமது அடியாளுடைய வீட்டில் வேறொன்றும் இல்லை என்றாள். And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

3 அப்பொழுது அவன்: நீ போய், உன்னுடைய அயல்வீட்டுகாரர் எல்லாரிடத்திலும் அநேகம் வெறும்பாத்திரங்களைக் கேட்டுவாங்கி, Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 உள்ளே போய், உன் பிள்ளைகளுடன் உள்ளே நின்று கதவைப் பூட்டி, அந்தப் பாத்திரங்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் வார்த்து, நிறைந்ததை ஒரு பக்கத்தில் வை என்றான். And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5 அவள் அவனிடத்திலிருந்து போய், தன் பிள்ளைகளுடன் கதவைப் பூட்டிக்கொண்டு, இவர்கள் பாத்திரங்களை அவளிடத்தில் கொடுக்க, அவள் அவைகளில் வார்த்தாள். So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 அந்தப் பாத்திரங்கள் நிறைந்த பின், அவள் தன் மகன் ஒருவனை நோக்கி: இன்னும் ஒரு பாத்திரம் கொண்டுவா என்றாள். அதற்கு அவன்: வேறே பாத்திரம் இல்லை என்றான்; அப்பொழுது எண்ணெய் நின்று; போயிற்று. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

7 அவள் போய் தேவனுடைய மனுஷனுக்கு அதை அறிவித்தாள். அப்பொழுது அவன்: நீ போய் அந்த எண்ணெயை விற்று, உன் கடனைத் தீர்த்து, மீந்ததைக்கொண்டு நீயும் உன் பிள்ளைகளும் ஜீவனம்பண்ணுங்கள் என்றான். Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

8 பின்பு ஒருநாள் எலிசா சூனேமுக்குப் போயிருக்கும்போது, அங்கேயிருந்த கனம்பொருந்திய ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவனை போஜனம்பண்ண வருந்திக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டாள்; அப்படியே அவன் பயணப்பட்டு வருகிறபோதெல்லாம் போஜனம்பண்ணும்படி அங்கே வந்து தங்குவான். And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

9 அவள் தன் புருஷனை நோக்கி: இதோ, நம்மிடத்தில் எப்போதும் வந்துபோகிற தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய இவர் பரிசுத்தவான் என்று காண்கிறேன். And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

10 நாம் மெத்தையின்மேல் ஒரு சிறிய அறைவீட்டைக் கட்டி, அதில் அவருக்கு ஒரு கட்டிலையும், மேஜையையும், நாற்காலியையும், குத்துவிளக்கையும் வைப்போம்; அவர் நம்மிடத்தில் வரும்போது அங்கே தங்கலாம் என்றாள். Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

11 ஒருநாள் அவன் அங்கே வந்து, அந்த அறைவீட்டிலே தங்கி, அங்கே படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான். And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

12 அவன் தன் வேலைக்காரனாகிய கேயாசியை நோக்கி: இந்தச் சூனேமியாளை அழைத்துக் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; அவளை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு வந்தான்; அவள் அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றாள். And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

13 அவன் கேயாசியைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, இப்படிப்பட்ட சகல சலக்கரணையோடும் எங்களை விசாரித்து வருகிறாயே, உனக்கு நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும்? ராஜாவினிடத்திலாவது சேனாபதியினிடத்திலாவது உனக்காக நான் பேசவேண்டிய காரியம் உண்டோ என்று அவளைக் கேள் என்றான். அதற்கு அவள்: என் ஜனத்தின் நடுவே நான் சுகமாய்க் குடியிருக்கிறேன் என்றாள். And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

14 அவளுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியது என்னவென்று கேயாசியை அவன் கேட்டதற்கு; அவன், அவளுக்குப் பிள்ளை இல்லை, அவள் புருஷனும் பெரிய வயதுள்ளவன் என்றான். And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

15 அப்பொழுது அவன்: அவளைக் கூப்பிடு என்றான்; அவளைக் கூப்பிட்ட போது, அவள் வந்து வாசற்படியிலே நின்றாள். And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

16 அப்பொழுது அவன்: ஒரு பிராண உற்பத்திகாலத்திட்டத்திலே ஒரு குமாரனை அணைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பாய் என்றான். அதற்கு அவள்: ஏது? தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய என் ஆண்டவனே, உமது அடியாளுக்கு அபத்தம் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்றாள். And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

17 அந்த ஸ்திரீ கர்ப்பந்தரித்து, எலிசா தன்னோடே சொன்னபடி, ஒரு உற்பத்திகாலத்திட்டத்தில் ஒரு குமாரனை பெற்றாள். And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

18 அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்தான், ஒரு நாள் அவன் அறுப்பறுக்கிறவர்களிடத்திலிருந்த தன் தகப்பனண்டைக்குப் போயிருக்கும்போது, And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

19 தன் தகப்பனைப் பார்த்து: ஏன் தலை நோகிறது, என் தலை நோகிறது என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் வேலைக்காரனிடத்தில், இவனை இவன் தாயினிடத்தில் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்விடு என்றான். And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

20 அவனை எடுத்து, அவன் தாயினிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோனபோது, அவன் மத்தியானமட்டும் அவள் மடியில் இருந்து செத்துப்போனான். And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

21 அப்பொழுது அவள் ஏறிப்போய், அவனை தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் கட்டிலின்மேல் வைத்து, அவன் வைக்கப்பட்ட அறையின் கதவைப் பூட்டிக் கொண்டுபோய், And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

22 தன் புருஷனிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி: நான் சீக்கிரமாய் தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் இருக்கும் இடமட்டும் போய்வரும்படிக்கு; வேலைக்காரரில் ஒருவனையும் ஒரு கழுதையையும் எனக்கு அனுப்பவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னாள். And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

23 அப்பொழுது அவன்: இது அமாவாசியும் அல்ல ஓய்வுநாளும் அல்லவே; நீ இன்றைக்கு அவரிடத்துக்குப் போகவேண்டியது என்ன என்று கேட்கச்சொன்னான். அதறύகு அவள்: எҠύலாம் சரிĠξன், நான் போக வேண்டியிருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லியனுப்பி, And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

24 கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம்வைத்து ஏறி, தன் வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி: இதை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோ; நான் உனக்குச் சொன்னால் ஒழிய போகிற வழியில் எங்கும் ஓட்டத்தை நிறுத்தாதே என்று சொல்லிப் புறப்பட்டு, Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

25 கர்மேல் பர்வதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுடைய மனுஷனிடத்திற்குப் போனாள்; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் தூரத்திலே அவளை வரக்கண்டு, தன் வேலைக்காரனாகிய கேயாசியைப் பார்த்து: அதோ சூனேமியாள் வருகிறாள். So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

26 நீ அவளுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு ஓடி, நீ சுகமாயிருக்கிறாயா? உன் புருஷன் சுகமாயிருக்கிறானா? அந்தப் பிள்ளை சுகமாயிருக்கிறதா என்று அவளிடத்தில் கேள் என்றான். அவள்: சுகந்தான் என்று சொல்லி, Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

27 பர்வதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுடைய மனுஷனிடத்தில் வந்து, அவன் காலைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டாள்; அப்பொழுது கேயாசி அவளை விலக்கிவிட வந்தான்; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன்: அவளைத் தடுக்காதே; அவள் ஆத்துமா துக்கமாயிருக்கிறது; கர்த்தர் அதை எனக்கு அறிவியாமல் மறைத்து வைத்தார் என்றான். And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

28 அப்பொழுது அவள், நான் என் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் ஒரு குமாரனை வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டதுண்டா? எனக்கு அபத்தம் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று நான் சொல்லவில்லையா என்றாள். Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

29 அப்பொழுது அவன் கேயாசியைப் பார்த்து: நீ உன் இடையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, என் தடியை உன் கையில் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, வழியில் ஒருவனைச் சந்தித்தாலும் அவனை வினவாமலும், உன்னை ஒருவன் வினவினாலும் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழி சொல்லாமலும் போய்; என் தடியை அந்தப் பிள்ளையின் முகத்தின்மேல் வை என்றான். Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

30 பிள்ளையின் தாயோ: நான் உம்மை விடுகிறதில்லை என்று கர்த்தரின் ஜீவனையும் உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றாள்; அப்பொழுது அவன் எழுந்திருந்து அவள் பின்னே போனான். And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

31 கேயாசி அவர்களுக்கு முன்னே போய், அந்தத் தடியைப் பிள்ளையின் முகத்தின்மேல் வைத்தான்; ஆனாலும் சத்தமும் இல்லை, உணர்ச்சியும் இல்லை; ஆகையால் அவன் திரும்பி அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து: பிள்ளை விழிக்கவில்லை என்று அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தான். And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

32 எலிசா வீட்டிற்குள் வந்தபோது, இதோ, அந்தப் பிள்ளை அவன் கட்டிலின்மேல் செத்துக்கிடந்தான். And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

33 உள்ளே போய்த் தங்கள் இருவருக்கும் பின்னாக அவன் கதவைப் பூட்டி, கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்து, He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

34 கிட்டேபோய், தன் வாய் பிள்ளையின் வாயின்மேலும், தன் கண்கள் அவன் கண்களின்மேலும், தன் உள்ளங்கைகள் அவன் உள்ளங்கைகளின்மேலும் படும்படியாக அவன்மேல் குப்புறப் படுத்துக் கொண்டான்; அப்பொழுது பிள்ளையின் உடல் அனல் கொண்டது. And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

35 அவன் எழுந்து, அறைவீட்டில் இங்கும் அங்கும் உலாவி, திரும்பக் கிட்டப் போய் அவன்மேல் குப்புறப்படுத்தான்; அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பிள்ளை ஏழுதரம் தும்மித் தன் கண்களைத் திறந்தான். Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

36 அப்பொழுது அவன்: கேயாசியைக் கூப்பிட்டு, அந்தச் சூனேமியாளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்றான்; அவளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தான்; அவள் அவனிடத்தில் வந்தபோது ; அவன், உன் குமாரனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு போ என்றான். And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

37 அப்பொழுது அவள் உள்ளே போய், அவன் பாதத்திலே விழுந்து, தரைமட்டும் பணிந்து, தன் குமாரனை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வெளியே போனாள். Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

38 எலிசா கில்காலுக்குத் திரும்பிப் போய் இருக்கையில், தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிற்று; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்திரர், அவனுக்கு முன்பாக உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்; அவன் தன் வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ பெரிய பானையை அடுப்பிலே வைத்துத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்திரருக்குக் கூழ்காய்ச்சு என்றான். And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

39 ஒருவன் கீரைகளைப் பறிக்க வெளியிலே போய், ஒரு பேய்க்கொம்மட்டிக் கொடியைக் கண்டு, அதன் காய்களை மடி நிறைய அறுத்துவந்து, அவைகளை அரிந்து கூழ்ப்பானையிலே போட்டான்; அது இன்னதென்று அவர்களுக்குத் தெரியாதிருந்தது. And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

40 சாப்பிட அதை ஜனங்களுக்கு வார்த்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் அந்தக் கூழில் எடுத்துச் சாப்பிடுகிறபோது, அதைச் சாப்பிடக் கூடாமல்; தேவனுடைய மனுஷனே, பானையில் சாவு இருக்கிறது என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள். So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

41 அப்பொழுது அவன், மாவைக் கொண்டுவரச்சொல்லி, அதைப் பானையிலே போட்டு, ஜனங்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி அவர்களுக்கு வார் என்றான்; அப்புறம் பானையிலே தோஷம் இல்லாமற் போயிற்று. But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

42 பின்பு பாகால் சலீஷாவிலிருந்து ஒரு மனுஷன் தேவனுடைய மனுஷனுக்கு முதற்பலனான வாற்கோதுமையின் இருபது அப்பங்களையும் தாள் கதிர்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவன்: ஜனங்களுக்குச் சாப்பிடக்கொடு என்றான். And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

43 அதற்கு அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரன்: இதை நான் நூறுபேருக்கு முன் வைப்பது எப்படி என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: அதை ஜனங்களுக்குச் சாப்பிடக் கொடு; சாப்பிட்டபிற்பாடு இன்னும் மீதியுண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான். And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

44 அப்பொழுது அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அதை வைத்தான்; கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையின்படியே அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டதுமன்றி மீதியும் இருந்தது. So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.

1 Theerkkatharisikalutaiya puththiraril oruvanukku manaiviyaayiruntha oru sthiree elisaavaip paarththu: umathu atiyaanaakiya en purushan iranthu ponaan; umathu atiyaan karththarukkup payanthu nadanthaan enpathai ariveer; kadankoduththavan ippothu en iranndu kumaararaiyum thanakku atimaikalaakkik kolla vanthaan entan. Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2 Elisaa avalai Nnokki: naan unakku ennaseyya vaenndum? Veettil unnidaththil enna irukkirathu sol entan. Atharku aval: oru kudam ennnney allaamal umathu atiyaalutaiya veettil vaerontum illai ental. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

3 Appoluthu avan: nee poy, unnutaiya ayalveettukaarar ellaaridaththilum anaekam veraுmpaaththirangalaik kaettuvaangi, Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 Ullae poy, un pillaikaludan ullae nintu kathavaip pootti, anthap paaththirangal ellaavattilum vaarththu, nirainthathai oru pakkaththil vai entan. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5 Aval avanidaththilirunthu poy, than pillaikaludan kathavaip poottikkonndu, ivarkal paaththirangalai avalidaththil kodukka, aval avaikalil vaarththaal. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 Anthap paaththirangal niraintha pin, aval than makan oruvanai Nnokki: innum oru paaththiram konnduvaa ental. Atharku avan: vaeraே paaththiram illai entan; appoluthu ennnney nintu; poyittaு. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

7 Aval poy thaevanutaiya manushanukku athai ariviththaal. Appoluthu avan: nee poy antha ennnneyai vittaு, un kadanaith theerththu, meenthathaikkonndu neeyum un pillaikalum jeevanampannnungal entan. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

8 Pinpu orunaal elisaa soonaemukkup poyirukkumpothu, angaeyiruntha kanamporunthiya oru sthiree avanai pojanampannna varunthik kaettukkonndaal; appatiyae avan payanappattu varukirapothellaam pojanampannnumpati angae vanthu thanguvaan. And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.

9 Aval than purushanai Nnokki: itho, nammidaththil eppothum vanthupokira thaevanutaiya manushanaakiya ivar Parisuththavaan entu kaannkiraேn. And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.

10 Naam meththaiyinmael oru siriya araiveettaைk katti, athil avarukku oru kattilaiyum, maejaiyaiyum, naarkaaliyaiyum, kuththuvilakkaiyum vaippom; avar nammidaththil varumpothu angae thangalaam ental. Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

11 Orunaal avan angae vanthu, antha araiveettilae thangi, angae paduththukkonntirunthaan. And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.

12 Avan than vaelaikkaaranaakiya kaeyaasiyai Nnokki: inthach soonaemiyaalai alaiththuk konnduvaa entan; avalai alaiththuk konndu vanthaan; aval avanukku munpaaka nintal. And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

13 Avan kaeyaasiyaip paarththu: itho, ippatippatta sakala salakkarannaiyodum engalai visaariththu varukiraayae, unakku naan enna seyyavaenndum? Raajaavinidaththilaavathu senaapathiyinidaththilaavathu unakkaaka naan paesavaenntiya kaariyam unntoo entu avalaik kael entan. Atharku aval: en janaththin naduvae naan sukamaayk kutiyirukkiraேn ental. And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

14 Avalukkuch seyyavaenntiyathu ennaventu kaeyaasiyai avan kaettatharku; avan, avalukkup pillai illai, aval purushanum periya vayathullavan entan. And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.

15 Appoluthu avan: avalaik kooppidu entan; avalaik kooppitta pothu, aval vanthu vaasarpatiyilae nintal. And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

16 Appoluthu avan: oru piraana urpaththikaalaththittaththilae oru kumaaranai annaiththuk konntiruppaay entan. Atharku aval: aethu? Thaevanutaiya manushanaakiya en aanndavanae, umathu atiyaalukku apaththam sollavaenndaam ental. And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

17 Antha sthiree karppanthariththu, elisaa thannotae sonnapati, oru urpaththikaalaththittaththil oru kumaaranai pettaாl. And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

18 Anthap pillai valarnthaan, oru naal avan araுpparaுkkiravarkalidaththiliruntha than thakappananntaikkup poyirukkumpothu, And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

19 Than thakappanaip paarththu: aen thalai Nnokirathu, en thalai Nnokirathu entan; appoluthu avan vaelaikkaaranidaththil, ivanai ivan thaayinidaththil eduththukkonndupoyvidu entan. And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

21 Appoluthu aval aerippoy, avanai thaevanutaiya manushan kattilinmael vaiththu, avan vaikkappatta araiyin kathavaip poottik konndupoy, And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

22 Than purushanidaththil aal anuppi: naan seekkiramaay thaevanutaiya manushan irukkum idamattum poyvarumpatikku; vaelaikkaararil oruvanaiyum oru kaluthaiyaiyum enakku anuppavaenndum entu sollachchaொnnaal. And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

23 Appoluthu avan: ithu amaavaasiyum alla oyvunaalum allavae; nee intaikku avaridaththukkup pokavaenntiyathu enna entu kaetkachchaொnnaan. Atharaύku aval: eҠύlaam sariĠξn, naan poka vaenntiyirukkirathu entu solliyanuppi, And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

24 Kaluthaiyinmael senamvaiththu aeri, than vaelaikkaaranai Nnokki: ithai ottikkonndupo; naan unakkuch sonnaal oliya pokira valiyil engum ottaththai niraுththaathae entu sollip purappattu, Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

25 Karmael parvathaththilirukkira thaevanutaiya manushanidaththirkup ponaal; thaevanutaiya manushan thooraththilae avalai varakkanndu, than vaelaikkaaranaakiya kaeyaasiyaip paarththu: atho soonaemiyaal varukiraal. So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

26 Nee avalukku ethirkonndu oti, nee sukamaayirukkiraayaa? Un purushan sukamaayirukkiraanaa? Anthap pillai sukamaayirukkirathaa entu avalidaththil kael entan. Aval: sukanthaan entu solli, Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

27 Parvathaththilirukkira thaevanutaiya manushanidaththil vanthu, avan kaalaip pitiththukkonndaal; appoluthu kaeyaasi avalai vilakkivida vanthaan; thaevanutaiya manushan: avalaith thadukkaathae; aval aaththumaa thukkamaayirukkirathu; Karththar athai enakku ariviyaamal maraiththu vaiththaar entan. And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

28 Appoluthu aval, naan en aanndavanidaththil oru kumaaranai vaenndum entu kaettathunndaa? Enakku apaththam sollavaenndaam entu naan sollavillaiyaa ental. Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?

29 Appoluthu avan kaeyaasiyaip paarththu: nee un itaiyaik kattikkonndu, en thatiyai un kaiyil pitiththukkonndu, valiyil oruvanaich santhiththaalum avanai vinavaamalum, unnai oruvan vinavinaalum avanukku maraுmoli sollaamalum poy; en thatiyai anthap pillaiyin mukaththinmael vai entan. Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

30 Pillaiyin thaayo: naan ummai vidukirathillai entu karththarin jeevanaiyum ummutaiya jeevanaiyum konndu sollukiraேn ental; appoluthu avan elunthirunthu aval pinnae ponaan. And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

31 Kaeyaasi avarkalukku munnae poy, anthath thatiyaip pillaiyin mukaththinmael vaiththaan; aanaalum saththamum illai, unarchchiyum illai; aakaiyaal avan thirumpi avanukku ethirkonnduvanthu: pillai vilikkavillai entu avanukku ariviththaan. And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.

32 Elisaa veettirkul vanthapothu, itho, anthap pillai avan kattilinmael seththukkidanthaan. And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.

33 Ullae poyth thangal iruvarukkum pinnaaka avan kathavaip pootti, karththarai Nnokki vaennduthal seythu, He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.

34 Kittaேpoy, than vaay pillaiyin vaayinmaelum, than kannkal avan kannkalinmaelum, than ullangaikal avan ullangaikalinmaelum padumpatiyaaka avanmael kuppurap paduththuk konndaan; appoluthu pillaiyin udal anal konndathu. And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

35 Avan elunthu, araiveettil ingum angum ulaavi, thirumpak kittap poy avanmael kuppurappaduththaan; appoluthu anthap pillai aelutharam thummith than kannkalaith thiranthaan. Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

36 Appoluthu avan: kaeyaasiyaik kooppittu, anthach soonaemiyaalai alaiththukkonnduvaa entan; avalai alaiththukkonndu vanthaan; aval avanidaththil vanthapothu ; avan, un kumaaranai eduththukkonndu po entan. And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.

37 Appoluthu aval ullae poy, avan paathaththilae vilunthu, tharaimattum panninthu, than kumaaranai eduththuk konndu veliyae ponaal. Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

38 Elisaa kilkaalukkuth thirumpip poy irukkaiyil, thaesaththilae panjam unndaayittaு; theerkkatharisikalin puththirar, avanukku munpaaka utkaarnthirunthaarkal; avan than vaelaikkaaranai Nnokki: nee periya paanaiyai aduppilae vaiththuth theerkkatharisikalin puththirarukkuk koolkaaychchu entan. And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.

39 Oruvan geeraikalaip parikka veliyilae poy, oru paeykkommattik kotiyaik kanndu, athan kaaykalai mati niraiya araுththuvanthu, avaikalai arinthu koolppaanaiyilae pottan; athu innathentu avarkalukkuth theriyaathirunthathu. And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

40 Saappida athai janangalukku vaarththaarkal; avarkal anthak koolil eduththuch saappidukirapothu, athaich saappidak koodaamal; thaevanutaiya manushanae, paanaiyil saavu irukkirathu entu saththamittarkal. So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

41 Appoluthu avan, maavaik konnduvarachchaொlli, athaip paanaiyilae pottu, janangal saappidumpati avarkalukku vaar entan; appuram paanaiyilae thosham illaamar poyittaு. But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

42 Pinpu paakaal saleeshaavilirunthu oru manushan thaevanutaiya manushanukku mutharpalanaana vaarkothumaiyin irupathu appangalaiyum thaal kathirkalaiyum konnduvanthaan; appoluthu avan: janangalukkuch saappidakkodu entan. And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.

43 Atharku avanutaiya pannivitaikkaaran: ithai naan nooraுpaerukku mun vaippathu eppati entan. Atharku avan: athai janangalukkuch saappidak kodu; saappittapirpaadu innum meethiyunndaayirukkum entu Karththar sollukiraar entan. And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.

44 Appoluthu avarkalukku munpaaka athai vaiththaan; karththarutaiya vaarththaiyinpatiyae avarkal saappittathumanti meethiyum irunthathu. So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.
