1 பின்பு அகித்தோப்பேல் அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: நான் பன்னீராயிரம்பேரைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு எழுந்து, இன்று இராத்திரி தாவீதைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து போகட்டும். Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

2 அவன் விடாய்த்தவனும் கை தளர்ந்தவனுமாயிருக்கையில், நான் அவனிடத்தில் போய், அவனைத் திடுக்கிடப்பண்ணுவேன்; அப்பொழுது அவனோடிருக்கும் ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் ஓடிப்போவதினால், நான் ராஜா ஒருவனைமாத்திரம் வெட்டி, And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:

3 ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் உம்முடைய வசமாய்த் திரும்பப்பண்ணுவேன், இப்படிச்செய்ய நீர் வகைதேடினால், எல்லாரும் திரும்பினபின் ஜனங்கள் சமாதானத்தோடு இருப்பார்கள் என்றான். And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

4 இந்த வார்த்தை அப்சலோமின் பார்வைக்கும் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய சகல மூப்பரின் பார்வைக்கும் நலமாய்த் தோன்றினது. And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

5 ஆகிலும் அப்சலோம்: அற்கியனாகிய ஊசாயைக் கூப்பிட்டு, அவன் வாய்மொழியையும் கேட்போம் என்றான். Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.

6 ஊசாய் அப்சலோமிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, அப்சலோம் அவனைப் பார்த்து: இந்தப்பிரகாரமாக அகிப்தோப்பேல் சொன்னான்; அவன் வார்த்தையின்படிசெய்வோமோ, அல்லவென்றால், நீ சொல் என்றான் And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.

7 அப்பொழுது ஊசாய் அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: அகித்தோப்பேல் இந்த விசைசொன்ன ஆலோசனை நல்லதல்ல என்றான். And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

8 மேலும் ஊசாய்: உம்முடைய தகப்பனும் அவன் மனுஷரும் பலசாலிகள் என்றும், வெளியிலே குட்டிகளைப் பறிகொடுத்த கரடியைப்போல மனமெரிகிறவர்கள் என்றும் நீர் அறிவீர்; உம்முடைய தகப்பன் யுத்தவீரனுமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் இராக்காலத்தில் ஜனங்களோடே தங்கமாட்டார். For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

9 இதோ, அவர் இப்பொழுது ஒரு கெபியிலாவது, வேறே யாதோரிடத்திலாவது ஒளித்திருப்பார்; துவக்கத்திலேதானே நம்முடையவர்களில் சிலர் பட்டார்களேயானால், அதைக் கேட்கிற யாவரும் அப்சலோமைப் பின்செல்லுகிற ஜனங்களில் சங்காரம் உண்டாயிற்று என்பார்கள். Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

10 அப்பொழுது சிங்கத்தின் இருதயத்திற்கொத்த இருதயமுள்ள பலவானாயிருக்கிறவனுங்கூட கலங்கிப்போவான்; உம்முடைய தகப்பன் சவுரியவான் என்றும், அவரோடிருக்கிறவர்கள் பலசாலிகள் என்றும், இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் அறிவார்கள். And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

11 ஆதலால் நான் சொல்லுகிற யோசனையாவது, தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபமட்டும் இருக்கிற கடற்கரை மணலத்தனை திரட்சியான இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் உம்மண்டையில் கூட்டப்பட்டு, நீர்தானேகூட யுத்தத்திற்குப் போகவேண்டும். Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.

12 அப்பொழுது அவரைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிற எவ்விடத்திலாகிலும் நாம் அவரிடத்தில் போய், பனி பூமியின்மேல் இறங்குவதுபோல அவர்மேல் இறங்குவோம் அப்படியே அவரோடிருக்கிற எல்லா மனுஷரிலும் ஒருவனும் அவருக்கு மீந்திருப்பதில்லை. So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.

13 ஒரு பட்டணத்திற்குள் புகுந்தாரேயானால், இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் அந்தப் பட்டணத்தின்மேல் கயிறுகளைப்போட்டு அங்கே ஒரு பொடிக்கல்லும் காணப்படாதே போகுமட்டும், அதை இழுத்து ஆற்றிலே போடுவார்கள் என்றான். Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

14 அப்பொழுது அப்சலோமும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் அனைவரும்: அகித்தோப்பேலின் ஆலோசனையைப்பார்க்கிலும் அற்கியனாகிய ஊசாயின் ஆலோசனை நல்லது என்றார்கள்; இப்படி கர்த்தர் அப்சலோமின்மேல் பொல்லாப்பை வரப்பண்ணும்பொருட்டு, அகித்தோப்பேலின் நல்லஆலோசனையை அபத்தமாக்குகிறதற்குக் கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டார். And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counseled.

16 இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் சீக்கிரமாய்த் தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கும்படிக்குச் செய்தி அனுப்பி: நீர் இன்று இராத்திரி வனாந்தரத்தின் வெளிகளிலே தங்கவேண்டாம்; ராஜாவும் அவரோடிருக்கிற சகல ஜனங்களும் விழுங்கப்படாதபடிக்குத் தாமதம் இல்லாமல் அக்கரைப்படவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான். Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

17 யோனத்தானும் அகிமாசும், தாங்கள் நகரத்தில் பிரவேசிக்கிறதினால் காணப்படாதபடிக்கு, இன்றோகேல் அண்டை நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; ஒரு வேலைக்காரி போய், அதை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னாள்; அவர்கள் தாவீதுராஜாவுக்கு அதை அறிவிக்கப்போனார்கள். Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down.

And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counseled against you.

22 அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடிருந்த சகல ஜனங்களும் எழுந்து யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோனார்கள்; பொழுதுவிடிகிறதற்குள்ளாக யோர்தானைக் கடவாதவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை. Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

23 அகித்தோப்பேல் தன் யோசனையின்படி நடக்கவில்லை என்று கண்டபோது, தன் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம் வைத்து ஏறி, தன் ஊரிலிருக்கிற தன் வீட்டுக்குப்போய், தன் வீட்டுக்காரியங்களை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தி, நான்றுகொண்டு செத்தான்; அவன் தகப்பன் கல்லறையில் அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள். And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

24 தாவீது மக்னாயீமுக்கு வந்தான்; அப்சலோம் சகல இஸ்ரவேலரோடுங்கூட யோர்தானைக் கடந்தான். Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

25 அப்சலோம், யோவாபுக்குப் பதிலாக அமாசாவை இராணுவத்தலைவனாக்கினான்; இந்த அமாசா, நாகாசின் குமாரத்தியும் செருயாவின் சகோதரியும் யோவாபின் அத்தையுமாகிய அபிகாயிலைப் படைத்த இஸ்ரவேலனாகிய எத்திரா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு மனுஷனுடைய குமாரனாயிருந்தான். And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.

26 இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களும் அப்சலோமும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள். So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

27 தாவீது மக்னாயீமில் சேர்ந்தபோது, அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேசத்து ரப்பா பட்டணத்தானாகிய சோபி என்னும் நாகாசின் குமாரனும், லோதேபார் ஊரானான அம்மியேலின் குமாரன் மாகீரும், ரோகிலிம் ஊரானும் கீலேயாத்தியனுமாகிய பர்சிலாவும், And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

28 மெத்தைகளையும், கலங்களையும், மண்பாண்டங்களையும், கோதுமையையும், வாற்கோதுமையையும், மாவையும், வறுத்த பயற்றைம் பெரும்பயற்றையும், சிறு பயற்றையும், வறுத்த சிறு பயற்றையும், Brought beds, and basins, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and parched pulse,

29 தேனையும், வெண்ணெயையும், ஆடுகளையும், பால்கட்டிகளையும், தாவீதுக்கும் அவனோடிருந்த ஜனங்களுக்கும் சாப்பிடுகிறதற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அந்த ஜனங்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே பசியும் இளைப்பும் தவனமுமாயிருப்பார்கள் என்று இப்படிச் செய்தார்கள். And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.

1 Pinpu akiththoppael apsalomai Nnokki: naan panneeraayirampaeraith therinthukonndu elunthu, intu iraaththiri thaaveethaip pinthodarnthu pokattum. Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

2 Avan vidaayththavanum kai thalarnthavanumaayirukkaiyil, naan avanidaththil poy, avanaith thidukkidappannnuvaen; appoluthu avanotirukkum janangalellaarum otippovathinaal, naan raajaa oruvanaimaaththiram vetti, And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:

3 Janangalaiyellaam ummutaiya vasamaayth thirumpappannnuvaen, ippatichcheyya neer vakaithaetinaal, ellaarum thirumpinapin janangal samaathaanaththodu iruppaarkal entan. And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

4 Intha vaarththai apsalomin paarvaikkum isravaelutaiya sakala moopparin paarvaikkum nalamaayth thontinathu. And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

5 Aakilum apsalom: arkiyanaakiya oosaayaik kooppittu, avan vaaymoliyaiyum kaetpom entan. Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.

6 Oosaay apsalomidaththil vanthapothu, apsalom avanaip paarththu: inthappirakaaramaaka akipthoppael sonnaan; avan vaarththaiyinpatiseyvomo, allavental, nee sol entan And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak thou.

7 Appoluthu oosaay apsalomai Nnokki: akiththoppael intha visaisonna aalosanai nallathalla entan. And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given is not good at this time.

8 Maelum oosaay: ummutaiya thakappanum avan manusharum palasaalikal entum, veliyilae kuttikalaip parikoduththa karatiyaippola manamerikiravarkal entum neer ariveer; ummutaiya thakappan yuththaveeranumaayirukkiraar; avar iraakkaalaththil janangalotae thangamaattar. For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

9 Itho, avar ippoluthu oru kepiyilaavathu, vaeraே yaathoridaththilaavathu oliththiruppaar; thuvakkaththilaethaanae nammutaiyavarkalil silar pattarkalaeyaanaal, athaik kaetkira yaavarum apsalomaip pinsellukira janangalil sangaaram unndaayittaு enpaarkal. 10 Appoluthu singaththin iruthayaththirkoththa iruthayamulla palavaanaayirukkiravanungaூda kalangippovaan; ummutaiya thakappan savuriyavaan entum, avarotirukkiravarkal palasaalikal entum, isravaelar ellaarum arivaarkal. And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

11 Aathalaal naan sollukira yosanaiyaavathu, thaannmuthal peyersepamattum irukkira kadarkarai manalaththanai thiratchiyaana isravaelar ellaarum ummanntaiyil koottappattu, neerthaanaekooda yuththaththirkup pokavaenndum. Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.

12 Appoluthu avaraik kanndupitikkira evvidaththilaakilum naam avaridaththil poy, pani poomiyinmael iranguvathupola avarmael iranguvom appatiyae avarotirukkira ellaa manusharilum oruvanum avarukku meenthiruppathillai. So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.

13 Oru pattanaththirkul pukunthaaraeyaanaal, isravaelar ellaarum anthap pattanaththinmael kayiraுkalaippottu angae oru potikkallum kaanappadaathae pokumattum, athai iluththu aattilae poduvaarkal entan. Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

14 Appoluthu apsalomum Israel manushar anaivarum: akiththoppaelin aalosanaiyaippaarkkilum arkiyanaakiya oosaayin aalosanai nallathu entarkal; ippati Karththar apsalominmael pollaappai varappannnumporuttu, akiththoppaelin nallaaalosanaiyai apaththamaakkukiratharkuk Karththar kattalaiyittar. And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

15 Pinpu oosaay, saathok apiyaththaar ennum aasaariyarkalaip paarththu: inna innapati akiththoppael apsalomukkum isravaelin moopparukkum aalosanaich sonnaan; naano inna innapati aalosanai sonnaen. Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counseled.

16 Ippoluthum neengal seekkiramaayth Davidkku arivikkumpatikkuch seythi anuppi: neer intu iraaththiri vanaantharaththin velikalilae thangavaenndaam; raajaavum avarotirukkira sakala janangalum vilungappadaathapatikkuth thaamatham illaamal akkaraippadavaenndum entu sollachchaொllungal entan. Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

17 Yonaththaanum akimaasum, thaangal nakaraththil piravaesikkirathinaal kaanappadaathapatikku, intokael anntai nintukonntirunthaarkal; oru vaelaikkaari poy, athai avarkalukkuch sonnaal; avarkal Davidraajaavukku athai arivikkapponaarkal. Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.

18 Oru pillaiyaanndaan avarkalaik kanndu, apsalomukku ariviththaan; aakaiyaal, avarkal iruvarum seekkiramaayp poy, pakoorimilirukkira oru manushan veettirkul piravaesiththaarkal; avan muttaththil oru kinaraு irunthathu; athil iranginaarkal. Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; whither they went down.

19 Veettukkaari oru paayai eduththu, kinattaுvaayinmael viriththu, kaariyam velippadaathapatikku athanmael noyyaip parappivaiththaal. And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.

20 Apsalomin sevakar antha sthireeyinidaththil veettirkul vanthu: akimaasum yonaththaanum engae entu kaettarkal; avarkalukku antha sthiree: vaaykkaalukku appaalae poyvittarkal entan; ivarkal thaetikkaannaathaepoy, erusalaemukkuth thirumpinaarkal. And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

21 Ivarkal ponapirpaadu, avarkal kinattilirunthu aerivanthu, David raajaavukku ariviththu, thaaveethai Nnokki: seekkiramaay elunthu aattaைkkadanthupongal; innapati akiththoppael ungalukku virothamaay aalosanai sonnaan entarkal. And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus hath Ahithophel counseled against you.

22 Appoluthu Davidm avanotiruntha sakala janangalum elunthu yorthaanaik kadanthuponaarkal; poluthuvitikiratharkullaaka yorthaanaik kadavaathavan oruvanum illai. Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

23 Akiththoppael than yosanaiyinpati nadakkavillai entu kanndapothu, than kaluthaiyinmael senam vaiththu aeri, than oorilirukkira than veettukkuppoy, than veettukkaariyangalai olungupaduththi, naantukonndu seththaan; avan thakappan kallaraiyil avanai adakkampannnninaarkal. And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.

24 David maknaayeemukku vanthaan; apsalom sakala isravaelarodungaூda yorthaanaik kadanthaan. Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

25 Apsalom, yovaapukkup pathilaaka amaasaavai iraanuvaththalaivanaakkinaan; intha amaasaa, naakaasin kumaaraththiyum seruyaavin sakothariyum yovaapin aththaiyumaakiya apikaayilaip pataiththa isravaelanaakiya eththiraa ennum paerulla oru manushanutaiya kumaaranaayirunthaan. 26 Israel janangalum apsalomum geelaeyaath thaesaththilae paalayamiranginaarkal. So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.
