1 இதற்குப்பின்பு தாவீது பெலிஸ்தரை முறிய அடித்து, அவர்களைக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தி, மேத்தேக் அம்மாவைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டான். And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

4 அவனுக்கு இருந்த இராணுவத்தில் ஆயிரத்து எழுநூறு குதிரைவீரரையும், பதினாயிரம் காலாட்களையும் பிடித்து இரதங்களில் நூறு இரதங்களை வைத்துக்கொண்டு, மற்றவைகளையெல்லாம் துண்டாடிப்போட்டான். And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

5 சோபாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆதாதேசருக்கு உதவிசெய்ய தமஸ்குப் பட்டணத்தாராகிய சீரியர் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது சீரியரில் இருபத்தீராயிரம்பேரை வெட்டிப்போட்டு, And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 தமஸ்குக்கடுத்த சீரியாவிலே தாணையங்களை வைத்தான்; சீரியர் தாவீதைச் சேவித்து, அவனுக்குக் கப்பங்கட்டினார்கள்; தாவீது போன இடத்திலெல்லாம், கர்த்தர் அவனைக் காப்பாற்றினார். Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

7 ஆதாதேசரின் சேவகருடைய பொற்பரிசைகளைத் தாவீது எடுத்து, அவைகளை எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தான். And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 ஆதாதேசரின் பட்டணங்களாகிய பேத்தாகிலும் பேரொத்தாயிலுமிருந்து தாவீதுராஜா மகா திரளான வெண்கலத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்: And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

9 தாவீது ஆதாதேசருடைய எல்லா இராணுவத்தையும் முறிய அடித்த செய்தியை ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவாகிய தோயீ கேட்டபோது, When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

10 ஆதாதேசர் தோயீயின்மேல் எப்போதும் யுத்தம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தபடியால், ராஜாவாகிய தாவீதின் சுகசெய்தியை விசாரிக்கவும், அவன் ஆதாதேசரோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணி, அவனை முறிய அடித்ததற்காக அவனுக்கு வாழ்த்துதல் சொல்லவும், தோயீ தன் குமாரனாகிய யோராமை ராஜாவினிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான். மேலும் யோராம் தன் கையிலே வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் வெண்கலமுமான தட்டுமுட்டுகளைக் கொண்டுவந்தான். Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

11 அவன் கொண்டுவந்தவைகளைத் தாவீதுராஜா கீழப்படுத்தின சீரியர், மோவாபியர், அம்மோன் புத்திரர், பெலிஸ்தர், அமலேக்கியர் என்னும் சகல ஜாதியார்களிடத்திலும், Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

12 ரேகோபின் குமாரனாகிய ஆதாதேசர் என்னும் சோபாவின் ராஜாவினிடத்திலும் கொள்ளையிட்டதிலும் எடுத்து, கர்த்தருக்கு நியமித்த வெள்ளியோடும் பொன்னோடுங்கூட கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரதிஷ்டைபண்ணினான். Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13 தாவீது உப்புப்பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பதினெண்ணாயிரம் சீரியரை முறிய அடித்துத் திரும்பினதினால் கீர்த்திபெற்றான். And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

14 ஏதோமில் தாணையங்களை வைத்தான்; ஏதோம் எங்கும் அவன் தாணையங்களை வைத்ததினாலே, ஏதோமியர் எல்லாரும் தாவீதைச் சேவிக்கிறவர்களானார்கள்; தாவீது போன எல்லா இடத்திலும் கர்த்தர் அவனைக் காப்பாற்றினார். And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

15 இப்படியே தாவீது இஸ்ரவேல் அனைத்தின்மேலும் ராஜாவாயிருந்தான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய எல்லா ஜனத்திற்கும் நியாயமும் நீதியும் செய்துவந்தான். And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

16 செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாப் இராணுவத்தலைவனாயிருந்தான்; அகிலுூதின் குமாரனாகிய யோசபாத் மந்திரியாயிருந்தான். And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

17 அகிதூபின் குமாரன் சாதோக்கும், அபியத்தாரின் குமாரன் அகிமெலேக்கும் ஆசாரியராயிருந்தார்கள்; செராயா சம்பிரதியாயிருந்தான். And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

18 யோய்தாவின் குமாரன் பெனாயா கிரேத்தியருக்கும் பிலேத்தியருக்கும் தலைவனாயிருந்தான்; தாவீதின் குமாரரோ பிரதானிகளாயிருந்தார்கள். And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

1 Itharkuppinpu David pelistharai muriya atiththu, avarkalaik geelppaduththi, maeththaek ammaavaip pitiththukkonndaan. And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Avan movaapiyaraiyum muriya atiththu, avarkalaith tharaimattum panniyappannnni, avarkalmael noolpottu, iranndupangu manusharaik kontupottu, oru pangai uyirotae vaiththaan; ivvithamaay movaapiyar thaaveethaich seviththu, avanukkuk kappangattukiravarkalaanaarkal. And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. 3 Aasaapin kumaaranaakiya aathaathaesar ennum sopaavin raajaa aipiraaththu nathiyanntaiyil irukkira seemaiyaith thirumpath than vasamaakkikkollappokaiyil, David avanaiyum muriya atiththu, David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

4 Avanukku iruntha iraanuvaththil aayiraththu elunooraு kuthiraiveeraraiyum, pathinaayiram kaalaatkalaiyum pitiththu irathangalil nooraு irathangalai vaiththukkonndu, mattavaikalaiyellaam thunndaatippottan. And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

5 Sopaavin raajaavaakiya aathaathaesarukku uthaviseyya thamaskup pattanaththaaraakiya seeriyar vanthaarkal; David seeriyaril irupaththeeraayirampaerai vettippottu, And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 Thamaskukkaduththa seeriyaavilae thaannaiyangalai vaiththaan; seeriyar thaaveethaich seviththu, avanukkuk kappangattinaarkal; David pona idaththilellaam, Karththar avanaik kaappaattinaar. Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

7 Aathaathaesarin sevakarutaiya porparisaikalaith David eduththu, avaikalai erusalaemukkuk konnduvanthaan. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 Aathaathaesarin pattanangalaakiya paeththaakilum paeroththaayilumirunthu Davidraajaa makaa thiralaana vennkalaththaiyum eduththukkonnduvanthaan: And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

9 David aathaathaesarutaiya ellaa iraanuvaththaiyum muriya atiththa seythiyai aamaaththin raajaavaakiya thoyee kaettapothu, When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

10 Aathaathaesar thoyeeyinmael eppothum yuththampannnnikkonntirunthapatiyaal, raajaavaakiya thaaveethin sukaseythiyai visaarikkavum, avan aathaathaesarotae yuththampannnni, avanai muriya atiththatharkaaka avanukku vaalththuthal sollavum, thoyee than kumaaranaakiya yoraamai raajaavinidaththil anuppinaan. Maelum yoraam than kaiyilae velliyum ponnum vennkalamumaana thattumuttukalaik konnduvanthaan. Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

11 Avan konnduvanthavaikalaith Davidraajaa geelappaduththina seeriyar, movaapiyar, ammon puththirar, pelisthar, amalaekkiyar ennum sakala jaathiyaarkalidaththilum, Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

12 Raekopin kumaaranaakiya aathaathaesar ennum sopaavin raajaavinidaththilum kollaiyittathilum eduththu, karththarukku niyamiththa velliyodum ponnodungaூda karththarukkup pirathishtaipannnninaan. Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

13 David uppuppallaththaakkilae pathinennnnaayiram seeriyarai muriya atiththuth thirumpinathinaal geerththipettaாn. And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

14 Aethomil thaannaiyangalai vaiththaan; aethom engum avan thaannaiyangalai vaiththathinaalae, aethomiyar ellaarum thaaveethaich sevikkiravarkalaanaarkal; David pona ellaa idaththilum Karththar avanaik kaappaattinaar. And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

15 Ippatiyae David Israel anaiththinmaelum raajaavaayirunthaan; avan thannutaiya ellaa janaththirkum niyaayamum neethiyum seythuvanthaan. And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

16 Seruyaavin kumaaranaakiya yovaap iraanuvaththalaivanaayirunthaan; akiluூthin kumaaranaakiya yosapaath manthiriyaayirunthaan. And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

17 Akithoopin kumaaran saathokkum, apiyaththaarin kumaaran akimelaekkum aasaariyaraayirunthaarkal; seraayaa sampirathiyaayirunthaan. And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

18 Yoythaavin kumaaran penaayaa kiraeththiyarukkum pilaeththiyarukkum thalaivanaayirunthaan; thaaveethin kumaararo pirathaanikalaayirunthaarkal. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
