Genesis 31 in Tamil

1 பின்பு, லாபானுடைய குமாரர்: எங்கள் தகப்பனுக்கு உண்டானவைகள் யாவையும் யாக்கோபு எடுத்துக் கொண்டான் என்றும், எங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய பொருளினாலே இந்தச் செல்வத்தையெல்லாம் அடைந்தான் என்றும் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை யாக்கோபு கேட்டான். And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory.

2 லாபானின் முகத்தை யாக்கோபு பார்த்தபோது, அது நேற்று முந்தைநாள் இருந்ததுபோல் இராமல் வேறுபட்டிருக்கக் கண்டான். And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

3 கர்த்தர் யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: உன் பிதாக்களுடைய தேசத்திற்கும் உன் இனத்தாரிடத்திற்கும் நீ திரும்பிப்போ; நான் உன்னோடேகூட இருப்பேன் என்றார். And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

4 அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு, ராகேலையும் லேயாளையும் வெளியிலே தன் மந்தையிடத்தில் அழைப்பித்து, And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,

5 அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய முகம் நேற்று முந்தைநாள் இருந்ததுபோல இருக்கவில்லையென்று எனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறது; ஆனாலும் என் தகப்பனுடைய தேவன் என்னோடேகூட இருக்கிறார். And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

6 என்னால் இயன்றமட்டும் நான் உங்கள் தகப்பனுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்தேன் என்று நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

7 உங்கள் தகப்பனோ, என்னை வஞ்சித்து, என் சம்பளத்தைப் பத்துமுறை மாற்றினான்; ஆனாலும் அவன் எனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்ய தேவன் அவனுக்கு இடங்கொடுக்கவில்லை. And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

8 புள்ளியுள்ளவைகள் உன் சம்பளமாயிருக்கும் என்று அவன் சொன்னபோது, ஆடுகளெல்லாம் புள்ளியுள்ள குட்டிகளைப் போட்டது; கலப்பு நிறமானவைகள் உன் சம்பளமாயிருக்கும் என்று அவன் சொன்னபோது, ஆடுகளெல்லாம் கலப்புநிறக் குட்டிகளைப் போட்டது. If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ring-streaked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ring-streaked.

9 இவ்விதமாய் தேவன் உங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய ஆடுகளை எடுத்து, எனக்குத் தந்தார். Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

10 ஆடுகள் பொலியும் காலத்திலே நான் கண்ட சொப்பனத்தில் என் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது, ஆடுகளோடே பொலியும் கடாக்கள் கலப்பு நிறமும் புள்ளியும் வரியும் உள்ளவைகளாகக் கண்டேன். And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled.

11 அன்றியும் தேவதூதன் ஒருவர் சொப்பனத்தில் யாக்கோபே என்றார்; இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றேன். And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 அப்பொழுது அவர்: உன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்; ஆடுகளோடே பொலியும் கடாக்களெல்லாம் கலப்புநிறமும் புள்ளியும் வரியுமுள்ளவைகளாய் இருக்கிறது; லாபான் உனக்குச் செய்கிற யாவையும் கண்டேன். And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

13 நீ தூணுக்கு அபிஷேகம் செய்து, எனக்கு ஒரு பொருத்தனையைப் பண்ணின பெத்தேலிலே உனக்குத் தரிசனமான தேவன் நானே; இப்பொழுது நீ எழுந்து, இந்தத் தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, உன் இனத்தாரிருக்கிற தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போ என்று சொன்னார் என்றான். I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

14 அதற்கு ராகேலும் லேயாளும்: எங்கள் தகப்பன் வீட்டில் இனி எங்களுக்குப் பங்கும் சுதந்தரமும் உண்டோ? And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?

15 அவரால் நாங்கள் அந்நியராய் எண்ணப்படவில்லையா? அவர் எங்களை விற்று, எங்கள் பணத்தையும் வாயிலே போட்டுக்கொண்டார். Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.

16 ஆகையால் தேவன் எங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்த ஐசுவரியம் எல்லாம் நமக்கும் நம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் உரியது; இப்படியிருக்க, தேவன் உமக்குச் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் செய்யும் என்றார்கள். For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.

17 அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு எழுந்து, தன் பிள்ளைகளையும் தன் மனைவிகளையும் ஒட்டகங்களின்மேல் ஏற்றி, Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;

18 தான் பதான் அராமிலே சம்பாதித்த மிருகஜீவன்களாகிய மந்தைகள் அனைத்தையும் தன் பொருள்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, கானான் தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கிடத்துக்குப் போகப் புறப்பட்டான். And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 லாபான், தன் ஆடுகளை மயிர்கத்தரிக்கப் போயிருந்தான்; அந்தச் சமயத்திலே ராகேல் தன் தகப்பனுடைய சொரூபங்களைத் திருடிக்கொண்டாள். And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.

20 யாக்கோபு தான் ஓடிப்போகிறதைச் சீரியனாகிய லாபானுக்கு அறிவியாமல், திருட்டளவாய்ப் போய்விட்டான். And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

21 இப்படியே அவன் தனக்கு உண்டானவைகளையெல்லாம் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, ஆற்றைக் கடந்து, கீலேயாத் மலையை நோக்கி ஓடிப்போனான். So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.

22 யாக்கோபு ஓடிப்போனது மூன்றாம் நாளிலே லாபானுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.

23 அப்பொழுது அவன், தன் சகோதரரைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ஏழுநாள் பிரயாணபரியந்தம் அவனைத் தொடர்ந்துபோய், கீலேயாத் மலையிலே அவனைக் கண்டுபிடித்தான். And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.

24 அன்று ராத்திரி தேவன் சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய லாபானுக்குச் சொப்பனத்தில் தோன்றி: நீ யாக்கோபோடே நன்மையே அன்றித் தீமை ஒன்றும் பேசாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு என்றார். And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 லாபான் யாக்கோபினிடத்தில் வந்தான்; யாக்கோபு மலையிலே தன் கூடாரத்தைப் போட்டிருந்தான்; லாபானும் தன் சகோதரரோடேகூடக் கீலேயாத் மலையிலே கூடாரம் போட்டான். Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

26 அப்பொழுது லாபான் யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: நீ திருட்டளவாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு, என் குமாரத்திகளை யுத்தத்தில் பிடித்த சிறைகளைப்போலக் கொண்டுவந்தது என்ன செய்கை? And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

27 நீ ஓடிப்போவதை மறைத்து, எனக்கு அறிவியாமல், திருட்டளவாய் என்னிடத்திலிருந்து வந்துவிட்டது என்ன? நான் உன்னைச் சந்தோஷமாய், சங்கீதம் மேளதாளம் கின்னரமுழக்கத்துடனே அனுப்புவேனே. Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?

28 என் பிள்ளைகளையும் என் குமாரத்திகளையும் நான் முத்தஞ்செய்ய விடாமல் போனதென்ன? இந்தச் செய்கையை நீ மதியில்லாமல் செய்தாய். And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

29 உங்களுக்குப் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்ய எனக்கு வல்லமையுண்டு; ஆகிலும் உங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய தேவன் நீ யாக்கோபோடே நன்மையே அன்றித் தீமை ஒன்றும் பேசாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு என்று நேற்று ராத்திரி என்னோடே சொன்னார். It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 இப்பொழுதும் உன் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டின்மேலுள்ள வாஞ்சையினால் புறப்பட்டுப்போகிறதானால் போகலாம், என் தெய்வங்களை ஏன் திருடிக்கொண்டுபோகிறாய் என்று கேட்டான். And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?

31 யாக்கோபு லாபானுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உம்முடைய குமாரத்திகளைப் பலாத்காரமாய்ப் பிடித்து வைத்துக்கொள்வீர் என்று நான் அஞ்சினதினாலே இப்படி வந்துவிட்டேன். And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.

32 ஆனாலும் யாரிடத்தில் உம்முடைய தெய்வங்களைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கிறீரோ, அவனை உயிரோடே விடவேண்டாம்; உம்முடைய பொருள்கள் ஏதாவது என் வசத்தில் உண்டானால் நீர் அதை நம்முடைய சகோதரருக்கு முன்பாகப் பரிசோதித்தறிந்து, அதை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் என்றான். ராகேல் அவைகளைத் திருடிக்கொண்டுவந்ததை யாக்கோபு அறியாதிருந்தான். With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

33 அப்பொழுது லாபான் யாக்கோபின் கூடாரத்திலும், லேயாளின் கூடாரத்திலும், இரண்டு வேலைக்காரிகளின் கூடாரத்திலும் பிரவேசித்துப் பார்த்தும் ஒன்றும் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை; பின்பு, லேயாளின் கூடாரத்தைவிட்டு ராகேலின் கூடாரத்துக்குப் போனான். And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.

34 ராகேல் அந்தச் சுரூபங்களை எடுத்து, ஒட்டகச் சேணத்தின்கீழ் வைத்து, அதின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தாள், லாபான் கூடாரம் எங்கும் தடவிப்பார்த்தும், அவைகளைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை. Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

35 அவள் தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: என் ஆண்டவனாகிய உமக்கு முன்பாக நான் எழுந்திராததைக்குறித்துக் கோபங்கொள்ளவேண்டாம்; ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ள வழிபாடு எனக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறது என்றாள்; அப்படியே அவன் அந்தச் சுரூபங்களைத் தேடியும் கண்டுபிடிக்கவில்லை. And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.

36 அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபுக்குக் கோபம் எழும்பி, லாபானோடே வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணி: நீர் என்னை இவ்வளவு உக்கிரமாய்த் தொடர்ந்துவரும்படிக்கு நான் செய்த தப்பிதம் என்ன? நான் செய்த துரோகம் என்ன? And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

37 என் தட்டுமுட்டுகளையெல்லாம் தடவிப்பார்த்தீரே; உம்முடைய வீட்டுத் தட்டுமுட்டுகளில் என்னத்தைக் கண்டுபிடித்தீர்? அதை என்னுடைய சகோதரருக்கும் உம்முடைய சகோதரருக்கும் முன்பாக இங்கே வையும்; அவர்கள் எனக்கும் உமக்கும் நடுத்தீர்க்கட்டும். Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.

38 இந்த இருபது வருஷகாலமாய் நான் உம்மிடத்தில் இருந்தேன்; உம்முடைய செம்மறியாடுகளும் வெள்ளாடுகளும் சினையழியவில்லை; உம்முடைய மந்தைகளின் கடாக்களை நான் தின்னவில்லை. This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.

39 பீறுண்டதை நான் உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவராமல், அதற்காக நான் உத்தரவாதம்பண்ணினேன்; பகலில் களவுபோனதையும், இரவில் களவுபோனதையும் என் கையில் கேட்டு வாங்கினீர். That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.

40 பகலிலே வெயிலும் இரவிலே குளிரும் என்னைப் பட்சித்தது; நித்திரை என் கண்களுக்குத் தூரமாயிருந்தது; இவ்விதமாய்ப் பாடுபட்டேன். Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

41 இந்த இருபது வருஷகாலம் உம்முடைய வீட்டிலே இருந்தேன்; பதினாலு வருஷம் உம்முடைய இரண்டு குமாரத்திகளுக்காகவும், ஆறு வருஷம் உம்முடைய மந்தைக்காகவும் உம்மிடத்தில் சேவித்தேன்; பத்துமுறை என் சம்பளத்தை மாற்றினீர். Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 என் பிதாவின் தேவனாகிய ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும் ஈசாக்கின் பயபக்திக்குரியவரும் என்னோடிராமற்போனால், நீர் இப்பொழுது என்னை வெறுமையாய் அனுப்பிவிட்டிருப்பீர்; தேவன் என் சிறுமையையும் என் கைப்பிரயாசத்தையும் பார்த்து, நேற்று ராத்திரி உம்மைக் கடிந்துகொண்டார் என்று சொன்னான். Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

43 அப்பொழுது லாபான் யாக்கோபுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: இந்தக் குமாரத்திகள் என் குமாரத்திகள், இந்தப் பிள்ளைகள் என் பிள்ளைகள், இந்த மந்தை என் மந்தை; நீ காண்கிற யாவும் என்னுடையவைகள்; என் குமாரத்திகளாகிய இவர்களையும், இவர்கள் பெற்ற பிள்ளைகளையும் இன்று நான் என்ன செய்யக்கூடும்? And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?

44 இப்பொழுதும் எனக்கும் உனக்கும் சாட்சியாயிருக்கும் பொருட்டு, நீயும் நானும் உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணிக்கொள்ளக்கடவோம் என்றான். Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

45 அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, அதைத் தூணாக நிறுத்தினான். And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.

46 பின்னும் யாக்கோபு தன் சகோதரரைப் பார்த்து, கற்களைக் குவியலாகச் சேருங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் கற்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, ஒரு குவியலாக்கி, அந்தக் குவியலின்மேல் போஜனம்பண்ணினார்கள். And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.

47 லாபான் அதற்கு ஜெகர்சகதூதா என்று பேரிட்டான்; யாக்கோபு அதற்குக் கலயெத் என்று பேரிட்டான். And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.

48 இந்தக் குவியல் இன்று எனக்கும் உனக்கும் சாட்சி என்று லாபான் சொன்னபடியினாலே, அதின் பெயர் கலயெத் என்னப்பட்டது. And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

49 அல்லாமலும் அவன்: நாம் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் விட்டு மறைந்தபின், நீ என் குமாரத்திகளைத் துயரப்படுத்தி, அவர்களையல்லாமல் வேறே ஸ்திரீகளை விவாகம்பண்ணினாயானால், கர்த்தர் எனக்கும் உனக்கும் நடுநின்று கண்காணிக்கக்கடவர்; And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.

50 நம்முடனே ஒருவரும் இல்லை; பார், தேவனே எனக்கும் உனக்கும் சாட்சி என்று சொன்னபடியால், அது மிஸ்பா என்னும் பேர் பெற்றது. If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.

51 பின்னும் லாபான் யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: இதோ, இந்தக் குவியலையும் எனக்கும் உனக்கும் நடுவாக நான் நிறுத்தின தூணையும் பார். And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee:

52 தீங்கு செய்ய நான் இந்தக் குவியலைக் கடந்து உன்னிடத்துக்கு வராதபடிக்கும், நீ இந்தக் குவியலையும் இந்தத் தூணையும் கடந்து என்னிடத்துக்கு வராதபடிக்கும் இந்தக் குவியலும் சாட்சி, இந்தத் தூணும் சாட்சி. This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.

53 ஆபிரகாமின் தேவனும் நாகோரின் தேவனும் அவர்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனுமாயிருக்கிறவர் நமக்குள்ளே நடுநின்று நியாயந்தீர்ப்பாராக என்றான். அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கின் பயபக்திக்குரியவர்மேல் ஆணையிட்டான். The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.

54 பின்பு யாக்கோபு மலையின்மேல் பலியிட்டு, போஜனம்பண்ணும்படி தன் சகோதரரை அழைத்தான்; அப்படியே அவர்கள் போஜனம்பண்ணி மலையிலே இராத்தங்கினார்கள். Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.

55 லாபான் அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருந்து, தன் குமாரரையும் தன் குமாரத்திகளையும் முத்தஞ்செய்து, அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தான். பின்பு லாபான் புறப்பட்டு, தன் இடத்துக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான். And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.

1 Pinpu, laapaanutaiya kumaarar: engal thakappanukku unndaanavaikal yaavaiyum yaakkopu eduththuk konndaan entum, engal thakappanutaiya porulinaalae inthach selvaththaiyellaam atainthaan entum sonna vaarththaikalai yaakkopu kaettan. And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory.

2 Laapaanin mukaththai yaakkopu paarththapothu, athu naettaு munthainaal irunthathupol iraamal vaeraுpattirukkak kanndaan. And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

3 Karththar yaakkopai Nnokki: un pithaakkalutaiya thaesaththirkum un inaththaaridaththirkum nee thirumpippo; naan unnotaekooda iruppaen entar. And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

4 Appoluthu yaakkopu, raakaelaiyum laeyaalaiyum veliyilae than manthaiyidaththil alaippiththu, And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,

5 Avarkalai Nnokki: ungal thakappanutaiya mukam naettaு munthainaal irunthathupola irukkavillaiyentu enakkuth thontukirathu; aanaalum en thakappanutaiya Dhevan ennotaekooda irukkiraar. And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

6 Ennaal iyantamattum naan ungal thakappanukku ooliyanjaெythaen entu neengal arinthirukkireerkal. And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

8 Pulliyullavaikal un sampalamaayirukkum entu avan sonnapothu, aadukalellaam pulliyulla kuttikalaip pottathu; kalappu niramaanavaikal un sampalamaayirukkum entu avan sonnapothu, aadukalellaam kalappunirak kuttikalaip pottathu. If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ring-streaked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ring-streaked.

9 Ivvithamaay Dhevan ungal thakappanutaiya aadukalai eduththu, enakkuth thanthaar. Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

10 Aadukal poliyum kaalaththilae naan kannda soppanaththil en kannkalai aeraெduththup paarkkumpothu, aadukalotae poliyum kadaakkal kalappu niramum pulliyum variyum ullavaikalaakak kanntaen. And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled.

11 Antiyum thaevathoothan oruvar soppanaththil yaakkopae entar; itho, irukkiraேn enten. And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 Appoluthu avar: un kannkalai aeraெduththuppaar; aadukalotae poliyum kadaakkalellaam kalappuniramum pulliyum variyumullavaikalaay irukkirathu; laapaan unakkuch seykira yaavaiyum kanntaen. And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

13 Nee thoonukku apishaekam seythu, enakku oru poruththanaiyaip pannnnina peththaelilae unakkuth tharisanamaana Dhevan naanae; ippoluthu nee elunthu, inthath thaesaththaivittup purappattu, un inaththaarirukkira thaesaththirkuth thirumpippo entu sonnaar entan. I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

14 Atharku raakaelum laeyaalum: engal thakappan veettil ini engalukkup pangum suthantharamum unntoo? And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?

And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 Laapaan, than aadukalai mayirkaththarikkap poyirunthaan; anthach samayaththilae raakael than thakappanutaiya soroopangalaith thirutikkonndaal. And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.

20 Yaakkopu thaan otippokirathaich seeriyanaakiya laapaanukku ariviyaamal, thiruttalavaayp poyvittan. And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.

21 Ippatiyae avan thanakku unndaanavaikalaiyellaam eduththukkonndu, aattaைk kadanthu, geelaeyaath malaiyai Nnokki otipponaan. So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.

22 Yaakkopu otipponathu moontam naalilae laapaanukku arivikkappattathu. And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.

23 Appoluthu avan, than sakothararaik koottikkonndu, aelunaal pirayaanapariyantham avanaith thodarnthupoy, geelaeyaath malaiyilae avanaik kanndupitiththaan. And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.

And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 Laapaan yaakkopinidaththil vanthaan; yaakkopu malaiyilae than koodaaraththaip pottirunthaan; laapaanum than sakothararotaekoodak geelaeyaath malaiyilae koodaaram pottan. Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

26 Appoluthu laapaan yaakkopai Nnokki: nee thiruttalavaayp purappattu, en kumaaraththikalai yuththaththil pitiththa siraikalaippolak konnduvanthathu enna seykai? And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

27 Nee otippovathai maraiththu, enakku ariviyaamal, thiruttalavaay ennidaththilirunthu vanthuvittathu enna? Naan unnaich santhoshamaay, sangaீtham maelathaalam kinnaramulakkaththudanae anuppuvaenae. Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?

28 En pillaikalaiyum en kumaaraththikalaiyum naan muththanjaெyya vidaamal ponathenna? Inthach seykaiyai nee mathiyillaamal seythaay. And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

29 Ungalukkup pollaappuch seyya enakku vallamaiyunndu; aakilum ungal thakappanutaiya Dhevan nee yaakkopotae nanmaiyae antith theemai ontum paesaathapatikku echcharikkaiyaayiru entu naettaு raaththiri ennotae sonnaar. It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 Ippoluthum un thakappanutaiya veettinmaelulla vaanjaiyinaal purappattuppokirathaanaal pokalaam, en theyvangalai aen thirutikkonndupokiraay entu kaettan. And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?

And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.

With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

33 Appoluthu laapaan yaakkopin koodaaraththilum, laeyaalin koodaaraththilum, iranndu vaelaikkaarikalin koodaaraththilum piravaesiththup paarththum ontum kanndupitikkavillai; pinpu, laeyaalin koodaaraththaivittu raakaelin koodaaraththukkup ponaan. And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.

34 Raakael anthach suroopangalai eduththu, ottakach senaththingeel vaiththu, athinmael utkaarnthirunthaal, laapaan koodaaram engum thadavippaarththum, avaikalaik kanndupitikkavillai. Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.

36 Appoluthu yaakkopukkuk kopam elumpi, laapaanotae vaakkuvaathampannnni: neer ennai ivvalavu ukkiramaayth thodarnthuvarumpatikku naan seytha thappitham enna? Naan seytha thurokam enna? And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

37 En thattumuttukalaiyellaam thadavippaarththeerae; ummutaiya veettuth thattumuttukalil ennaththaik kanndupitiththeer? Athai ennutaiya sakothararukkum ummutaiya sakothararukkum munpaaka ingae vaiyum; avarkal enakkum umakkum naduththeerkkattum. Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.

38 Intha irupathu varushakaalamaay naan ummidaththil irunthaen; ummutaiya semmariyaadukalum vellaadukalum sinaiyaliyavillai; ummutaiya manthaikalin kadaakkalai naan thinnavillai. This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.

39 Peeraுnndathai naan ummidaththukkuk konnduvaraamal, atharkaaka naan uththaravaathampannnninaen; pakalil kalavuponathaiyum, iravil kalavuponathaiyum en kaiyil kaettu vaangineer. That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.

40 Pakalilae veyilum iravilae kulirum ennaip patchiththathu; niththirai en kannkalukkuth thooramaayirunthathu; ivvithamaayp paadupattaேn. Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

41 Intha irupathu varushakaalam ummutaiya veettilae irunthaen; pathinaalu varusham ummutaiya iranndu kumaaraththikalukkaakavum, aaraு varusham ummutaiya manthaikkaakavum ummidaththil seviththaen; paththumurai en sampalaththai maattineer. Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 En pithaavin thaevanaakiya aapirakaamin thaevanum eesaakkin payapakthikkuriyavarum ennotiraamarponaal, neer ippoluthu ennai veraுmaiyaay anuppivittiruppeer; Dhevan en siraுmaiyaiyum en kaippirayaasaththaiyum paarththu, naettaு raaththiri ummaik katinthukonndaar entu sonnaan. Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

43 Appoluthu laapaan yaakkopukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: inthak kumaaraththikal en kumaaraththikal, inthap pillaikal en pillaikal, intha manthai en manthai; nee kaannkira yaavum ennutaiyavaikal; en kumaaraththikalaakiya ivarkalaiyum, ivarkal petta pillaikalaiyum intu naan enna seyyakkoodum? And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?

44 Ippoluthum enakkum unakkum saatchiyaayirukkum poruttu, neeyum naanum udanpatikkaipannnnikkollakkadavom entan. Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

45 Appoluthu yaakkopu oru kallai eduththu, athaith thoonnaaka niraுththinaan. And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.

46 Pinnum yaakkopu than sakothararaip paarththu, karkalaik kuviyalaakach serungal entan; avarkal karkalai eduththukkonnduvanthu, oru kuviyalaakki, anthak kuviyalinmael pojanampannnninaarkal. And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.

47 Laapaan atharku jekarsakathoothaa entu paerittan; yaakkopu atharkuk kalayeth entu paerittan. And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.

48 Inthak kuviyal intu enakkum unakkum saatchi entu laapaan sonnapatiyinaalae, athin peyar kalayeth ennappattathu. And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

49 Allaamalum avan: naam oruvarai oruvar vittu marainthapin, nee en kumaaraththikalaith thuyarappaduththi, avarkalaiyallaamal vaeraே sthireekalai vivaakampannnninaayaanaal, Karththar enakkum unakkum nadunintu kannkaannikkakkadavar; And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.

50 Nammudanae oruvarum illai; paar, thaevanae enakkum unakkum saatchi entu sonnapatiyaal, athu mispaa ennum paer pettathu. If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.

51 Pinnum laapaan yaakkopai Nnokki: itho, inthak kuviyalaiyum enakkum unakkum naduvaaka naan niraுththina thoonnaiyum paar. And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee:

52 Theengu seyya naan inthak kuviyalaik kadanthu unnidaththukku varaathapatikkum, nee inthak kuviyalaiyum inthath thoonnaiyum kadanthu ennidaththukku varaathapatikkum inthak kuviyalum saatchi, inthath thoonum saatchi. This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.

53 Aapirakaamin thaevanum naakorin thaevanum avarkal pithaakkalin thaevanumaayirukkiravar namakkullae nadunintu niyaayantheerppaaraaka entan. Appoluthu yaakkopu than thakappanaakiya eesaakkin payapakthikkuriyavarmael aannaiyittan. The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.

54 Pinpu yaakkopu malaiyinmael paliyittu, pojanampannnumpati than sakothararai alaiththaan; appatiyae avarkal pojanampannnni malaiyilae iraaththanginaarkal. Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.

55 Laapaan athikaalamae elunthirunthu, than kumaararaiyum than kumaaraththikalaiyum muththanjaெythu, avarkalai aaseervathiththaan. Pinpu laapaan purappattu, than idaththukkuth thirumpipponaan. And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
