2சென்றுபோன மாதங்களிலும் தேவன் என்னைக் காப்பாற்றிவந்த நாட்களிலும் எனக்கு உண்டாயிருந்த சீர் இப்பொழுது இருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;
3அப்பொழுது அவர் தீபம் என் தலையின்மேல் பிரகாசித்தது; அவர் அருளின வெளிச்சத்தினால் இருளைக் கடந்துபோனேன்.When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;
4தேவனுடைய இரகசியச் செயல் என் கூடாரத்தின்மேல் இருந்தது.As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
5அப்பொழுது சர்வவல்லவர் என்னோடிருந்தார்; என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me;
6என் பாதங்களை நான் நெய்யினால் கழுவினேன்; கன்மலைகளிலிருந்து எனக்காக எண்ணெய் நதிபோல ஓடிவந்தது; அந்தச் செல்வநாட்களின் சீர் இப்போதிருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;
7நான் பட்டணவீதியால் வாசலுக்குள் புறப்பட்டுப்போய், வீதியில் என் ஆசனத்தைப் போடும்போது,When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!
8வாலிபர் என்னைக்கண்டு ஒளித்துக்கொள்வார்கள்; முதியோர் எழுந்திருந்து நிற்பார்கள்.The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.
9பிரபுக்கள் பேசுகிறதை நிறுத்தி, கையினால் தங்கள் வாயைப் பொத்திக்கொள்வார்கள்.The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.
10பெரியோரின் சத்தம் அடங்கி அவர்கள் நாக்கு அவர்கள் மேல்வாயோடு ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும்.The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
11என்னைக் கேட்ட காது என்னைப் பாக்கியவான் என்றது; என்னைக் கண்ட கண் எனக்குச் சாட்சியிட்டது.When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:
12முறையிடுகிற ஏழையையும் திக்கற்ற பிள்ளையையும் உதவியற்றவனையும் இரட்சித்தேன்.Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
13கெட்டுப்போக இருந்தவனுடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் என்மேல் வந்தது; விதவையின் இருதயத்தைக் கெம்பீரிக்கப்பண்ணினேன்.The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
14நீதியைத் தரித்துக்கொண்டேன், அது என் உடுப்பாயிருந்தது; என் நியாயம் எனக்குச் சால்வையும் பாகையுமாய் இருந்தது.I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.
15நான் குருடனுக்குக் கண்ணும், சப்பாணிக்குக் காலுமாயிருந்தேன்.I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame.
16நான் எளியவர்களுக்குத் தகப்பனாயிருந்து, நான் அறியாத வழக்கை ஆராய்ந்துபார்த்தேன்.I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.
17நான் அநியாயக்காரருடைய கடைவாய்ப் பற்களை உடைத்து, அவர்கள் பறித்ததை அவர்கள் பற்களிலிருந்து பிடுங்கினேன்.And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.
18என் கூட்டிலே நான் ஜீவித்துப்போவேன்; என் நாட்களை மணலத்தனையாய்ப் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றேன்.Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.
19என் வேர் தண்ணீர்களின் ஓரமாய்ப் படர்ந்தது; என் கிளையின்மேல் பனி இராமுழுதும் தங்கியிருந்தது.My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch.
20என் மகிமை என்னில் செழித்தோங்கி என் கையிலுள்ள என் வில் புதுப்பெலன் கொண்டது.My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.
21எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்துக் காத்திருந்தார்கள்; என் ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்டு மவுனமாயிருந்தார்கள்.Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel.
22என் பேச்சுக்குப் பேசாமலிருந்தார்கள்; என் வசனம் அவர்கள்மேல் துளிதுளியாய் விழுந்தது.After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.
23மழைக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறதுபோல் எனக்குக் காத்திருந்து, பின்மாரிக்கு ஆசையுள்ளவர்கள்போல் தங்கள் வாயை ஆவென்று திறந்திருந்தார்கள்.And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
24நான் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து நகைக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் துணிகரங்கொள்ளவில்லை; என் முகக்களையை மாறச்செய்யவும் இல்லை.If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.
25அவர்கள் வழியே போக எனக்குச் சித்தமாகும்போது நான் தலைவனாய் உட்கார்ந்து இராணுவத்துக்குள் ராஜாவைப்போலும், துக்கித்தவர்களைத் தேற்றரவுபண்ணுகிறவனைப்போலும் இருந்தேன்.I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.

6En paathangalai naan neyyinaal kaluvinaen; kanmalaikalilirunthu enakkaaka ennnney nathipola otivanthathu; anthach selvanaatkalin seer ippothirunthaal nalamaayirukkum.When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil;
7Naan pattanaveethiyaal vaasalukkul purappattuppoy, veethiyil en aasanaththaip podumpothu,When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street!
8Vaalipar ennaikkanndu oliththukkolvaarkal; muthiyor elunthirunthu nirpaarkal.The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up.
9Pirapukkal paesukirathai niraுththi, kaiyinaal thangal vaayaip poththikkolvaarkal.The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.
10Periyorin saththam adangi avarkal naakku avarkal maelvaayodu ottikkollum.The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
11Ennaik kaetta kaathu ennaip paakkiyavaan entathu; ennaik kannda kann enakkuch saatchiyittathu.When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me:
12Muraiyidukira aelaiyaiyum thikkatta pillaiyaiyum uthaviyattavanaiyum iratchiththaen.Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him.
13Kettuppoka irunthavanutaiya aaseervaatham enmael vanthathu; vithavaiyin iruthayaththaik kempeerikkappannnninaen.The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
14Neethiyaith thariththukkonntaen, athu en uduppaayirunthathu; en niyaayam enakkuch saalvaiyum paakaiyumaay irunthathu.I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.

17Naan aniyaayakkaararutaiya kataivaayp parkalai utaiththu, avarkal pariththathai avarkal parkalilirunthu pidunginaen.And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.
18En koottilae naan jeeviththuppovaen; en naatkalai manalaththanaiyaayp perukappannnuvaen enten.Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand.

22En paechchukkup paesaamalirunthaarkal; en vasanam avarkalmael thulithuliyaay vilunthathu.After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them.
23Malaikkuk kaaththirukkirathupol enakkuk kaaththirunthu, pinmaarikku aasaiyullavarkalpol thangal vaayai aaventu thiranthirunthaarkal.And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
24Naan avarkalaip paarththu nakaikkumpothu, avarkal thunnikarangaொllavillai; en mukakkalaiyai maarachcheyyavum illai.If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.
25Avarkal valiyae poka enakkuch siththamaakumpothu naan thalaivanaay utkaarnthu iraanuvaththukkul raajaavaippolum, thukkiththavarkalaith thaettaravupannnukiravanaippolum irunthaen.I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.
