1 ஆத்சோரின் ராஜாவாகிய யாபீன் அதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் மாதோனின் ராஜாவாகிய யோபாபிடத்திற்கும், சிம்ரோனின் ராஜாவிடத்துக்கும், அக்சாபின் ராஜாவிடத்திற்கும், And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

2 வடக்கேயிருக்கிற மலைகளிலும் கின்னரேத்துக்குத் தெற்கேயிருக்கிற நாட்டுப்புறத்திலும் சமபூமியிலும் மேற்கு எல்லையாகிய தோரிலும் இருக்கிற ராஜாக்களிடத்திற்கும், And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

3 கிழக்கேயும் மேற்கேயுமிருக்கிற கானானியரிடத்திற்கும், மலைகளிலிருக்கிற எமோரியர், ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், எபூசியரிடத்திற்கும், எர்மோன் மலையின் அடியிலே மிஸ்பா சீமையிலிருக்கிற ஏவியரிடத்திற்கும் ஆள் அனுப்பினான். And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

4 அவர்கள் கடற்கரை மணலைப்போல் ஏராளமான திரண்ட ஜனமாகிய தங்களுடைய எல்லாச் சேனைகளோடும், மகா ஏராளமான குதிரைகளோடும் இரதங்களோடும்கூடப் புறப்பட்டார்கள். And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

5 இந்த ராஜாக்களெல்லாரும் கூடி, இஸ்ரவேலோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணவந்து, மேசோம் என்கிற ஏரியண்டையிலே ஏகமாய்ப் பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள். And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

6 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் யோசுவாவை நோக்கி: அவர்களுக்குப் பயப்படாயாக, நாளை இந்நேரத்திலே நான் அவர்களையெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாக வெட்டுண்டவர்களாக ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன்; நீ அவர்கள் குதிரைகளின் குதிகால் நரம்புகளை அறுத்து, அவர்கள் இரதங்களை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கக்கடவாய் என்றார். And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

7 யோசுவாவும் அவனோடேகூட யுத்த ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும், திடீரென்று மேரோம் ஏரியண்டையிலிருக்கிற அவர்களிடத்தில் வந்து, அவர்கள்மேல் விழுந்தார்கள். So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

8 கர்த்தர் அவர்களை இஸ்ரவேலின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து, பெரிய சீதோன்மட்டும் மிஸ்ரபோத்மாயீமட்டும், கிழக்கேயிருக்கிற மிஸ்பே பள்ளத்தாக்குமட்டும் துரத்தி, அவர்களில் ஒருவரும் மீதியாயிராதபடி, அவர்களை வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள். And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

9 யோசுவா கர்த்தர் தனக்குச் சொன்னபடி அவர்களுக்குச் செய்து, அவர்கள் குதிரைகளின் குதிகால் நரம்புகளை அறுத்து, அவர்கள் இரதங்களை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்தான். And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

10 அக்காலத்திலே யோசுவா திரும்பி, ஆத்சோரைப்பிடித்து, அதின் ராஜாவைப் பட்டயத்தினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டான்; ஆத்சோர் முன்னே அந்த ராஜ்யங்களுக்கெல்லாம் தலைமையான பட்டணமாயிருந்தது. And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

11 அதிலிருந்த நரஜீவன்களையெல்லாம் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டி, சங்காரம்பண்ணினார்கள்; சுவாசமுள்ளது ஒன்றும் மீதியானதில்லை; ஆத்சோரையோ அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்தான். And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

12 அந்த ராஜாக்களுடைய எல்லாப்பட்டணங்களையும் அவைகளுடைய எல்லா ராஜாக்களையும் யோசுவா பிடித்து, பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டி, கர்த்தருடைய தாசனாகிய மோசே கட்டளையிட்டபடி, அவர்களைச் சங்காரம்பண்ணினான். And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

13 ஆனாலும் தங்கள் அரணிப்போடே இருந்த பட்டணங்களையெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலர் சுட்டெரித்துப்போடாமல் வைத்தார்கள்; ஆத்சோரைமாத்திரம் யோசுவா சுட்டெரித்துப்போட்டான். But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

14 அந்தப் பட்டணங்களிலுள்ள மிருகஜீவன்களையும் மற்றக்கொள்ளைப் பொருள்களையும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் தங்களுக்கென்று எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் எல்லா மனுஷரையும் அழித்துத் தீருமட்டும் அவர்களைப் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்; சுவாசமுள்ள ஒன்றையும் அவர்கள் மீதியாக வைக்கவில்லை. And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

15 கர்த்தர் தமது தாசனாகிய மோசேக்கு எப்படிக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தாரோ, அப்படியே மோசே யோசுவாவுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தான்; அப்படியே யோசுவா செய்தான்; அவன், கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டதில் ஒன்றையும் செய்யாமல் விடவில்லை. As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

16 இந்தப்பிரகாரமாக யோசுவா சேயீருக்கு ஏறிப்போகிற ஆலாக் மலைதுவக்கி லீபனோனின் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் எர்மோன் மலையடியில் இருக்கிற பாகால் காத்மட்டுமுள்ள அந்த முழுத்தேசமாகிய மலைகளையும் அதின் சமபூமியையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;

17 அவைகளின் ராஜாக்களையெல்லாம் பிடித்து, அவர்களை வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான். Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.

18 யோசுவா நெடுநாளாய் அந்த ராஜாக்களெல்லாரோடும் யுத்தம்பண்ணினான். Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

19 கிபியோனின் குடிகளாகிய ஏவியரைத்தவிர, ஒரு பட்டணமும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோடே சமாதானம் பண்ணவில்லை; மற்றெல்லாப் பட்டணங்களையும் யுத்தம்பண்ணிப் பிடித்தார்கள். There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

20 யுத்தம்பண்ண இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு எதிராகவரும்படிக்கு, அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் கடினமானதும், இப்படியே அவர்கள்பேரில் இரக்கம் உண்டாகாமல், கர்த்தர் மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, அவர்களை அழித்துச் சங்காரம்பண்ணினதும் கர்த்தரால் வந்த காரியமாயிருந்தது. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

21 அக்காலத்திலே யோசுவா போய், மலைத்தேசமாகிய எபிரோனிலும் தெபீரிலும் ஆனாபிலும் யூதாவின் சகல மலைகளிலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் சகல மலைகளிலும் இருந்த ஏனாக்கியரை நிக்கிரகம்பண்ணி அவர்களை அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களோடும்கூடச் சங்கரித்தான். And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

22 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் தேசத்தில் ஏனாக்கியர் ஒருவரும் மீதியாக வைக்கப்படவில்லை; காசாவிலும் காத்திலும் அஸ்தோத்திலும் மாத்திரம் சிலர் மீதியாயிருந்தார்கள். There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

23 அப்படியே யோசுவா, கர்த்தர் மோசேயினிடத்தில் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் தேசமனைத்தையும் பிடித்து, அதை இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு, அவர்கள் கோத்திரங்களுடைய பங்குகளின்படியே, சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்தான்; யுத்தம் ஓய்ந்ததினால் தேசம் அமைதலாயிருந்தது. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

1 Aathsorin raajaavaakiya yaapeen athaik kaelvippattapothu, avan maathonin raajaavaakiya yopaapidaththirkum, simronin raajaavidaththukkum, aksaapin raajaavidaththirkum, And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

2 Vadakkaeyirukkira malaikalilum kinnaraeththukkuth therkaeyirukkira naattuppuraththilum samapoomiyilum maerku ellaiyaakiya thorilum irukkira raajaakkalidaththirkum, And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

3 Kilakkaeyum maerkaeyumirukkira kaanaaniyaridaththirkum, malaikalilirukkira emoriyar, aeththiyar, perisiyar, epoosiyaridaththirkum, ermon malaiyin atiyilae mispaa seemaiyilirukkira aeviyaridaththirkum aal anuppinaan. 4 Avarkal kadarkarai manalaippol aeraalamaana thirannda janamaakiya thangalutaiya ellaach senaikalodum, makaa aeraalamaana kuthiraikalodum irathangalodumkoodap purappattarkal. And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

5 Intha raajaakkalellaarum kooti, isravaelotae yuththampannnavanthu, maesom enkira aeriyanntaiyilae aekamaayp paalayamiranginaarkal. And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

6 Appoluthu Karththar yosuvaavai Nnokki: avarkalukkup payappadaayaaka, naalai innaeraththilae naan avarkalaiyellaam isravaelukku munpaaka vettunndavarkalaaka oppukkoduppaen; nee avarkal kuthiraikalin kuthikaal narampukalai araுththu, avarkal irathangalai akkiniyaal sutterikkakkadavaay entar. 7 Yosuvaavum avanotaekooda yuththa janangal anaivarum, thiteerentu maerom aeriyanntaiyilirukkira avarkalidaththil vanthu, avarkalmael vilunthaarkal. So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.

8 Karththar avarkalai isravaelin kaiyil oppukkoduththaar; avarkalai muriya atiththu, periya seethonmattum misrapothmaayeemattum, kilakkaeyirukkira mispae pallaththaakkumattum thuraththi, avarkalil oruvarum meethiyaayiraathapati, avarkalai vettippottarkal. And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

9 Yosuvaa Karththar thanakkuch sonnapati avarkalukkuch seythu, avarkal kuthiraikalin kuthikaal narampukalai araுththu, avarkal irathangalai akkiniyaal sutteriththaan. And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

10 Akkaalaththilae yosuvaa thirumpi, aathsoraippitiththu, athin raajaavaip pattayaththinaal vettippottan; aathsor munnae antha raajyangalukkellaam thalaimaiyaana pattanamaayirunthathu. And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.

11 Athiliruntha narajeevankalaiyellaam pattayakkarukkinaal vetti, sangaarampannnninaarkal; suvaasamullathu ontum meethiyaanathillai; aathsoraiyo akkiniyaal sutteriththaan. And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

12 Antha raajaakkalutaiya ellaappattanangalaiyum avaikalutaiya ellaa raajaakkalaiyum yosuvaa pitiththu, pattayakkarukkinaal vetti, karththarutaiya thaasanaakiya Moses kattalaiyittapati, avarkalaich sangaarampannnninaan. And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

13 Aanaalum thangal arannippotae iruntha pattanangalaiyellaam isravaelar sutteriththuppodaamal vaiththaarkal; aathsoraimaaththiram yosuvaa sutteriththuppottan. But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.

14 Anthap pattanangalilulla mirukajeevankalaiyum mattakkollaip porulkalaiyum Israel puththirar thangalukkentu eduththukkonndaarkal; aanaalum ellaa manusharaiyum aliththuth theerumattum avarkalaip pattayakkarukkinaal vettippottarkal; suvaasamulla ontaiyum avarkal meethiyaaka vaikkavillai. And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.

15 Karththar thamathu thaasanaakiya Moseskku eppatik kattalaiyittirunthaaro, appatiyae Moses yosuvaavukkuk kattalaiyittirunthaan; appatiyae yosuvaa seythaan; avan, Karththar Moseskkuk kattalaiyittathil ontaiyum seyyaamal vidavillai. As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.

16 Inthappirakaaramaaka yosuvaa seyeerukku aerippokira aalaak malaithuvakki leepanonin pallaththaakkil ermon malaiyatiyil irukkira paakaal kaathmattumulla antha muluththaesamaakiya malaikalaiyum athin samapoomiyaiyum pitiththukkonndu, So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;

17 Avaikalin raajaakkalaiyellaam pitiththu, avarkalai vettik kontupottan. Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.

18 Yosuvaa nedunaalaay antha raajaakkalellaarodum yuththampannnninaan. Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

19 Kipiyonin kutikalaakiya aeviyaraiththavira, oru pattanamum Israel puththirarotae samaathaanam pannnavillai; mattellaap pattanangalaiyum yuththampannnnip pitiththaarkal. There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

20 Yuththampannna isravaelukku ethiraakavarumpatikku, avarkalutaiya iruthayam katinamaanathum, ippatiyae avarkalpaeril irakkam unndaakaamal, Karththar Moseskkuk kattalaiyittapati, avarkalai aliththuch sangaarampannnninathum karththaraal vantha kaariyamaayirunthathu. 23 Appatiyae yosuvaa, Karththar Mosesyinidaththil sonnapatiyellaam thaesamanaiththaiyum pitiththu, athai isravaelarukku, avarkal koththirangalutaiya pangukalinpatiyae, suthantharamaakak koduththaan; yuththam oynthathinaal thaesam amaithalaayirunthathu. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
