யோசுவா 20:4
அந்தப் பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றிற்கு ஓடிவருகிறவன், பட்டணத்தின் ஒலிமுகவாசலில் நின்றுகொண்டு, அந்தப் பட்டணத்தினுடைய மூப்பரின் செவிகள் கேட்க, தன் காரியத்தைச் சொல்வானாக; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவனைத் தங்களிடத்தில் பட்டணத்துக்குள்ளே சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, தங்களோடே குடியிருக்க அவனுக்கு இடம் கொடுக்கக்கடவர்கள்.

அந்தப் பட்டணங்களில் ஒன்றிற்கு ஓடிவருகிறவன், பட்டணத்தின் வாசலில் நின்றுகொண்டு, அந்தப் பட்டணத்தினுடைய மூப்பர்களின் காதுகளில் கேட்கும்படி, தன்னுடைய காரியத்தைச் சொல்வான்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவனைத் தங்களிடம் பட்டணத்திற்குள்ளே சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, தங்களோடு குடியிருக்க அவனுக்கு இடம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

“அவன் செய்யவேண்டிய காரியங்கள் என்ன வெனில்: அவன் ஓடி அந்நகரங்கள் ஒன்றில் ஒளிந்துக்கொள்ளும்போது, அவன் நகரத்தின் நுழைவாயிலருகே நின்று தலைவர்களை நோக்கி நிகழ்ந்ததைச் சொல்ல வேண்டும். பின் தலைவர்கள் நகரத்தினுள்ளே நுழைய அவனுக்கு அனுமதியும், அவர்களோடு சேர்ந்து வாழ அவனுக்கோர் இடமும் தரலாம்.
