Luke 7 in Tamil

1 அவர் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் ஜனங்களுடைய காதுகள் கேட்கும்படி சொல்லி முடித்தபின்பு, கப்பர்நகூமுக்குப் போனார். Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

2 அங்கே நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய ஒருவனுக்குப் பிரியமான வேலைக்காரன் வியாதிப்பட்டு மரண அவஸ்தையாயிருந்தான். And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

3 அவன் இயேசுவைக்குறித்துக் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவர் வந்து தன் வேலைக்காரனைக் குணமாக்கவேண்டுமென்று, அவரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும்படி யூதருடைய மூப்பரை அவரிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான். And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

4 அவர்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து, அவரைக் கருத்தாய் வேண்டிக்கொண்டு: நீர் இந்தத் தயவுசெய்கிறதற்கு அவன் பாத்திரனாயிருக்கிறான். And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

5 அவன் நம்முடைய ஜனத்தை நேசிக்கிறான், நமக்கு ஒரு ஜெபஆலயத்தையும் கட்டினான் என்றார்கள். For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

6 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போனார். வீட்டுக்குச் சமீபமானபோது நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதி தன் சிநேகிதரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் போய், ஆண்டவரே! நீர் வருத்தப்படவேண்டாம்; நீர் என் வீட்டு வாசலுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்க நான் பாத்திரன் அல்ல; Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

7 நான் உம்மிடத்தில் வரவும் என்னைப்பாத்திரனாக எண்ணவில்லை; ஒரு வார்த்தைமாத்திரம் சொல்லும், அப்பொழுது என் வேலைக்காரன் சொஸ்தமாவான். Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

8 நான் அதிகாரத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவனாயிருந்தும், எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கிற சேவகருமுண்டு; நான் ஒருவனைப் போவென்றால் போகிறான், மற்றொருவனை வாவென்றால் வருகிறான்; என் வேலைக்காரனை, இதைச் செய்யென்றால் செய்கிறான் என்று நான் சொன்னதாகச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று அவர்களை அனுப்பினான். For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

9 இயேசு இவைகளைக் கேட்டு அவனைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, திரும்பி, தமக்குப் பின்செல்லுகிற திரளான ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளும் நான் இப்படிப்பட்ட விசுவாசத்தைக் காணவில்லை என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார். When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 அனுப்பப்பட்டவர்கள் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தபோது, வியாதியாய்க் கிடந்த வேலைக்காரன் சுகமடைந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டார்கள். And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

11 மறுநாளிலே அவர் நாயீன் என்னும் ஊருக்குப் போனார்; அவருடைய சீஷர் அநேகரும் திரளான ஜனங்களும் அவருடனேகூடப் போனார்கள். And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 அவர் ஊரின் வாசலுக்குச் சமீபித்தபோது, மரித்துப்போன ஒருவனை அடக்கம் பண்ணும்படி கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவன் தன் தாய்க்கு ஒரே மகனாயிருந்தான். அவளோ கைம்பெண்ணாயிருந்தாள்; ஊராரில் வெகு ஜனங்கள் அவளுடனேகூட வந்தார்கள். Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

13 கர்த்தர் அவளைப் பார்த்து, அவள்மேல் மனதுருகி: அழாதே என்று சொல்லி, And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14 கிட்டவந்து, பாடையைத் தொட்டார்; அதைச் சுமந்தவர்கள் நின்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்: வாலிபனே, எழுந்திரு என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார். And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

15 மரித்தவன் எழுந்து உட்கார்ந்து, பேசத்தொடங்கினான். அவனை அவன் தாயினிடத்தில் ஒப்புவித்தார். And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16 எல்லாரும் பயமடைந்து: மகா தீர்க்கதரிசியானவர் நமக்குள்ளே தோன்றியிருக்கிறார் என்றும், தேவன் தமது ஜனங்களைச் சந்தித்தார் என்றும் சொல்லி, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள். And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

17 இந்தச் செய்தி யூதேயா தேசமுழுவதிலும் சுற்றியிருக்கிற திசைகள் யாவற்றிலும் பிரசித்தமாயிற்று. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

18 இவைகளையெல்லாம் யோவானுடைய சீஷர்கள் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது யோவான் தன்சீஷரில் இரண்டுபேரை அழைத்து, And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

19 நீங்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்திற்குப் போய்: வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று கேளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினான். And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20 அந்தப்படி அவர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: வருகிறவர் நீர்தானா? அல்லது வேறொருவர் வரக் காத்திருக்கவேண்டுமா? என்று கேட்கும்படி யோவான்ஸ்நானன் எங்களை உம்மிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார் என்றார்கள். When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21 அந்தச் சமயத்திலே நோய்களையும் கொடிய வியாதிகளையும் பொல்லாத ஆவிகளையும் கொண்டிருந்த அநேகரை அவர் குணமாக்கி, அநேகங் குருடருக்குப் பார்வையளித்தார். And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22 இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நீங்கள் போய், கண்டவைகளையும் கேட்டவைகளையும் யோவானுக்கு அறிவியுங்கள்; குருடர் பார்வையடைகிறார்கள், சப்பாணிகள் நடக்கிறார்கள். குஷ்டரோகிகள் சுத்தமாகிறார்கள், செவிடர் கேட்கிறார்கள், மரித்தோர் எழுந்திருக்கிறார்கள், தரித்திரருக்குச் சுவிசேஷம் பிரசங்கிக்கப்படுகிறது. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

23 என்னிடத்தில் இடறலடையாதிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் பாக்கியவான் என்றார். And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24 யோவானுடைய தூதர்கள் போனபின்பு அவர் யோவானைக்குறித்து ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்: எதைப்பார்க்க வனாந்தரத்திற்குப் போனீர்கள்? காற்றினால் அசையும் நாணலையோ? And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

25 அல்லவென்றால், எதைப்பார்க்கப்போனீர்கள்? மெல்லிய வஸ்திரந்தரித்த மனுஷனையோ? அலங்கார வஸ்திரந்தரித்துச் செல்வமாய் வாழ்கிறவர்கள் அரசர் மாளிகைகளிலே இருக்கிறார்கள். But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

26 அல்லவென்றால், எதைப்பார்க்கப்போனீர்கள்? தீர்க்கதரிசியையோ? ஆம், தீர்க்கதரிசியைப் பார்க்கிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவனையே என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

27 இதோ, நான் என் தூதனை உமக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்புகிறேன்; அவன் உமக்கு முன்னே போய், உமது வழியை ஆயத்தம் பண்ணுவான் என்று எழுதிய வாக்கியத்தால் குறிக்கப்பட்டவன் இவன்தான். This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

28 ஸ்திரீகளிடத்திலே பிறந்தவர்களில் யோவான்ஸ்நானனைப் பார்க்கிலும் பெரியதீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவனுமில்லை; ஆகிலும், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் சிறியவனாயிருக்கிறவன் அவனிலும் பெரியவனாயிருக்கிறானென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார். For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 யோவானுடைய உபதேசத்தைக் கேட்ட ஆயக்காரர் முதலான சகல ஜனங்களும் அவனாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, தேவன் நீதிபரர் என்று அறிக்கையிட்டார்கள். And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 பரிசேயரும் நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளுமோ அவனாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறாமல் தங்களுக்குக் கேடுண்டாக தேவனுடைய ஆலோசனையைத் தள்ளிவிட்டார்கள். But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

31 பின்னும் கர்த்தர் சொன்னது: இந்தச் சந்ததியை யாருக்கு ஒப்பிடுவேன்? இவர்கள் யாருக்கு, ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள்? And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

32 சந்தை வெளியில் உட்கார்ந்து, ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து: உங்களுக்காகக் குழல் ஊதினோம். நீங்கள் கூத்தாடவில்லை; உங்களுக்காகப் புலம்பினோம் நீங்கள் அழவில்லை என்று குறை சொல்லுகிற பிள்ளைகளுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள். They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

33 எப்படியெனில், யோவான்ஸ்நானன் அப்பம் புசியாதவனும் திராட்சரசம் குடியாதவனுமாய் வந்தான்; அதற்கு நீங்கள்: அவன் பிசாசு பிடித்திருக்கிறவன் என்கிறீர்கள். For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

34 மனுஷகுமாரன் போஜனபானம்பண்ணுகிறவராய் வந்தார்; அதற்கு நீங்கள்: இதோ, போஜனப்பிரியனும் மதுபானப்பிரியனுமான மனுஷன், ஆயக்காரருக்கும் பாவிகளுக்கும் சிநேகிதன் என்கிறீர்கள் The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35 ஆனாலும் ஞானமானது அதன் பிள்ளைகளெல்லாராலும் நீதியுள்ளதென்று ஒப்புக்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றார். But wisdom is justified of all her children.

36 பரிசேயரில் ஒருவன் தன்னுடனே போஜனம்பண்ண வேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவர் அந்தப் பரிசேயனுடைய வீட்டில் பிரவேசித்துப் பந்தியிருந்தார். And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37 அப்பொழுது அந்த ஊரிலிருந்த பாவியாகிய ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவர் பரிசேயன் வீட்டிலே பந்தியிருக்கிறதை அறிந்து, ஒரு பரணியில் பரிமளதைலம் கொண்டுவந்து, And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38 அவருடைய பாதங்களின் அருகே பின்னாக நின்று அழுதுகொண்டு, அவருடைய பாதங்களைத் தன் கண்ணீரினால் நனைத்து, தன் தலைமயிரினால் துடைத்து, அவருடைய பாதங்களை முத்தஞ்செய்து, பரிமளதைலத்தைப் பூசினாள். And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39 அவரை அழைத்த பரிசேயன் அதைக் கண்டபோது, இவர் தீர்க்கதரிசியாயிருந்தால் தம்மைத் தொடுகிற ஸ்திரீ இன்னாளென்றும் இப்படிப்பட்டவளென்றும் அறிந்திருப்பார்; இவள் பாவியாயிருக்கிறாளே என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டான். Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40 இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: சீமோனே, உனக்கு நான் ஒரு காரியம் சொல்லவேண்டும் என்றார். அதற்கு அவன்: போதகரே, சொல்லும் என்றான். And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

41 அப்பொழுது அவர்: ஒருவனிடத்தில் இரண்டுபேர் கடன்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்; ஒருவன் ஐந்நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசும், மற்றவன் ஐம்பது வெள்ளிக்காசும் கொடுக்கவேண்டியதாயிருந்தது. There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42 கொடுக்க அவர்களுக்கு நிர்வாகமில்லாதபோது, இருவருக்கும் கடனை மன்னித்துவிட்டான். இப்படியிருக்க, அவர்களில் எவன் அவனிடத்தில் அதிக அன்பாயிருப்பான்? அதைச் சொல் என்றார். And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 சீமோன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: எவனுக்கு அதிகமாய் மன்னித்துவிட்டானோ அவனே அதிக அன்பாயிருப்பான் என்று நினைக்கிறேன் என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்: சரியாய் நிதானித்தாய் என்று சொல்லி, Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44 ஸ்திரீயினிடமாய்த் திரும்பி, சீமோனை நோக்கி: இந்த ஸ்திரீயைப்பார்க்கிறாயே; நான் உன் வீட்டில் பிரவேசித்தேன், நீ என் கால்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் தரவில்லை, இவளோ, கண்ணீரினால் என் கால்களை நனைத்து, தன் தலைமயிரினால் அவைகளைத் துடைத்தாள். And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

45 நீ என்னை முத்தஞ்செய்யவில்லை, இவளோ நான் உட்பிரவேசித்தது முதல், என் பாதங்களை ஓயாமல் முத்தஞ்செய்தாள். Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

46 நீ என் தலையில் எண்ணெய் பூசவில்லை, இவளோ என் பாதங்களில் பரிமளதைலம் பூசினாள். My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47 ஆதலால் நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்: இவள் செய்த அநேக பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது; இவள் மிகவும் அன்புகூர்ந்தாளே. எவனுக்குக் கொஞ்சம் மன்னிக்கப்படுகிறதோ, அவன் கொஞ்சமாய் அன்பு கூருவான் என்று சொல்லி; Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

48 அவளை நோக்கி: உன் பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டது என்றார். And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

49 அப்பொழுது கூடப் பந்தியிருந்தவர்கள்: பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கிற இவன் யாரென்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள். And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

50 அவர் ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது, சமாதானத்தோடே போ என்றார். And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

3 Avan Yesuvaikkuriththuk kaelvippattapothu, avar vanthu than vaelaikkaaranaik kunamaakkavaenndumentu, avarai vaenntikkollumpati yootharutaiya moopparai avaridaththil anuppinaan. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

4 Avarkal Yesuvinidaththil vanthu, avaraik karuththaay vaenntikkonndu: neer inthath thayavuseykiratharku avan paaththiranaayirukkiraan. And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

5 Avan nammutaiya janaththai naesikkiraan, namakku oru jepaaalayaththaiyum kattinaan entarkal. For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

6 Appoluthu Yesu avarkaludanae koodapponaar. Veettukkuch sameepamaanapothu noottaுkku athipathi than sinaekitharai Nnokki: neengal avaridaththil poy, aanndavarae! Neer varuththappadavaenndaam; neer en veettu vaasalukkul piravaesikka naan paaththiran alla; Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

7 Naan ummidaththil varavum ennaippaaththiranaaka ennnavillai; oru vaarththaimaaththiram sollum, appoluthu en vaelaikkaaran sosthamaavaan. Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

8 Naan athikaaraththukkuk geelppattavanaayirunthum, enakkuk geelppattirukkira sevakarumunndu; naan oruvanaip povental pokiraan, mattaொruvanai vaavental varukiraan; en vaelaikkaaranai, ithaich seyyental seykiraan entu naan sonnathaakach sollungal entu avarkalai anuppinaan. 9 Yesu ivaikalaik kaettu avanaikkuriththu aachchariyappattu, thirumpi, thamakkup pinsellukira thiralaana janangalai Nnokki: isravaelarukkullum naan ippatippatta visuvaasaththaik kaanavillai entu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn entar. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 Anuppappattavarkal veettukkuth thirumpivanthapothu, viyaathiyaayk kidantha vaelaikkaaran sukamatainthirukkirathaik kanndaarkal. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

11 Maraுnaalilae avar naayeen ennum oorukkup ponaar; avarutaiya seeshar anaekarum thiralaana janangalum avarudanaekoodap ponaarkal. And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 Avar oorin vaasalukkuch sameepiththapothu, mariththuppona oruvanai adakkam pannnumpati konnduvanthaarkal; avan than thaaykku orae makanaayirunthaan. Avalo kaimpennnnaayirunthaal; ooraaril veku janangal avaludanaekooda vanthaarkal. 13 Karththar avalaip paarththu, avalmael manathuruki: alaathae entu solli, And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

14 Kittavanthu, paataiyaith thottar; athaich sumanthavarkal nintarkal; appoluthu avar: vaalipanae, elunthiru entu unakkuch sollukiraேn entar. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

15 Mariththavan elunthu utkaarnthu, paesaththodanginaan. Avanai avan thaayinidaththil oppuviththaar. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16 Ellaarum payamatainthu: makaa theerkkatharisiyaanavar namakkullae thontiyirukkiraar entum, Dhevan thamathu janangalaich santhiththaar entum solli, thaevanai makimaippaduththinaarkal. And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

17 Inthach seythi yoothaeyaa thaesamuluvathilum suttiyirukkira thisaikal yaavattilum pirasiththamaayittaு. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

18 Ivaikalaiyellaam yovaanutaiya seesharkal avanukku ariviththaarkal. Appoluthu yovaan thanseesharil iranndupaerai alaiththu, And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

19 Neengal Yesuvinidaththirkup poy: varukiravar neerthaanaa? Allathu vaeroruvar varak kaaththirukkavaenndumaa? Entu kaelungal entu solli anuppinaan. And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20 Anthappati avarkal avaridaththil vanthu: varukiravar neerthaanaa? Allathu vaeroruvar varak kaaththirukkavaenndumaa? Entu kaetkumpati yovaansnaanan engalai ummidaththirku anuppinaar entarkal. When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21 Anthach samayaththilae Nnoykalaiyum kotiya viyaathikalaiyum pollaatha aavikalaiyum konntiruntha anaekarai avar kunamaakki, anaekang kurudarukkup paarvaiyaliththaar. And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22 Yesu avarkalukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: neengal poy, kanndavaikalaiyum kaettavaikalaiyum yovaanukku ariviyungal; kurudar paarvaiyataikiraarkal, sappaannikal nadakkiraarkal. Kushdarokikal suththamaakiraarkal, sevidar kaetkiraarkal, mariththor elunthirukkiraarkal, thariththirarukkuch Suvisesham pirasangikkappadukirathu. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

23 Ennidaththil idaralataiyaathirukkiravan evano avan paakkiyavaan entar. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24 Yovaanutaiya thootharkal ponapinpu avar yovaanaikkuriththu janangalukkuch sonnathu ennavental: ethaippaarkka vanaantharaththirkup poneerkal? Kaattinaal asaiyum naanalaiyo? And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

25 Allavental, ethaippaarkkapponeerkal? Melliya vasthiranthariththa manushanaiyo? Alangaara vasthiranthariththuch selvamaay vaalkiravarkal arasar maalikaikalilae irukkiraarkal. But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

26 Allavental, ethaippaarkkapponeerkal? Theerkkatharisiyaiyo? Aam, theerkkatharisiyaip paarkkilum maenmaiyullavanaiyae entu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

27 Itho, naan en thoothanai umakku munpaaka anuppukiraேn; avan umakku munnae poy, umathu valiyai aayaththam pannnuvaan entu eluthiya vaakkiyaththaal kurikkappattavan ivanthaan. This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

28 Sthireekalidaththilae piranthavarkalil yovaansnaananaip paarkkilum periyatheerkkatharisi oruvanumillai; aakilum, thaevanutaiya raajyaththil siriyavanaayirukkiravan avanilum periyavanaayirukkiraanentu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn entar. For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 Yovaanutaiya upathaesaththaik kaetta aayakkaarar muthalaana sakala janangalum avanaalae njaanasnaanam pettaு, Dhevan neethiparar entu arikkaiyittarkal. And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

30 Pariseyarum niyaayasaasthirikalumo avanaalae njaanasnaanam peraamal thangalukkuk kaedunndaaka thaevanutaiya aalosanaiyaith thallivittarkal. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

31 Pinnum Karththar sonnathu: inthach santhathiyai yaarukku oppiduvaen? Ivarkal yaarukku, oppaayirukkiraarkal? And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

32 Santhai veliyil utkaarnthu, oruvaraiyoruvar paarththu: ungalukkaakak kulal oothinom. Neengal kooththaadavillai; ungalukkaakap pulampinom neengal alavillai entu kurai sollukira pillaikalukku oppaayirukkiraarkal. They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

33 Eppatiyenil, yovaansnaanan appam pusiyaathavanum thiraatcharasam kutiyaathavanumaay vanthaan; atharku neengal: avan pisaasu pitiththirukkiravan enkireerkal. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

34 Manushakumaaran pojanapaanampannnukiravaraay vanthaar; atharku neengal: itho, pojanappiriyanum mathupaanappiriyanumaana manushan, aayakkaararukkum paavikalukkum sinaekithan enkireerkal The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35 Aanaalum njaanamaanathu athan pillaikalellaaraalum neethiyullathentu oppukkollappadum entar. But wisdom is justified of all her children.

36 Pariseyaril oruvan thannudanae pojanampannna vaenndumentu avarai vaenntikkonndaan; avar anthap pariseyanutaiya veettil piravaesiththup panthiyirunthaar. And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37 Appoluthu antha ooriliruntha paaviyaakiya oru sthiree avar pariseyan veettilae panthiyirukkirathai arinthu, oru paranniyil parimalathailam konnduvanthu, And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38 Avarutaiya paathangalin arukae pinnaaka nintu aluthukonndu, avarutaiya paathangalaith than kannnneerinaal nanaiththu, than thalaimayirinaal thutaiththu, avarutaiya paathangalai muththanjaெythu, parimalathailaththaip poosinaal. And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39 Avarai alaiththa pariseyan athaik kanndapothu, ivar theerkkatharisiyaayirunthaal thammaith thodukira sthiree innaalentum ippatippattavalentum arinthiruppaar; ival paaviyaayirukkiraalae entu thanakkullae sollikkonndaan. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40 Yesu avanai Nnokki: seemonae, unakku naan oru kaariyam sollavaenndum entar. Atharku avan: pothakarae, sollum entan. And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

41 Appoluthu avar: oruvanidaththil iranndupaer kadanpattirunthaarkal; oruvan ainnooraு vellikkaasum, mattavan aimpathu vellikkaasum kodukkavaenntiyathaayirunthathu. There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42 Kodukka avarkalukku nirvaakamillaathapothu, iruvarukkum kadanai manniththuvittan. Ippatiyirukka, avarkalil evan avanidaththil athika anpaayiruppaan? Athaich sol entar. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 Seemon pirathiyuththaramaaka: evanukku athikamaay manniththuvittano avanae athika anpaayiruppaan entu ninaikkiraேn entan; atharku avar: sariyaay nithaaniththaay entu solli, Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44 Sthireeyinidamaayth thirumpi, seemonai Nnokki: intha sthireeyaippaarkkiraayae; naan un veettil piravaesiththaen, nee en kaalkalukkuth thannnneer tharavillai, ivalo, kannnneerinaal en kaalkalai nanaiththu, than thalaimayirinaal avaikalaith thutaiththaal. And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

45 Nee ennai muththanjaெyyavillai, ivalo naan utpiravaesiththathu muthal, en paathangalai oyaamal muththanjaெythaal. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

46 Nee en thalaiyil ennnney poosavillai, ivalo en paathangalil parimalathailam poosinaal. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47 Aathalaal naan unakkuch sollukiraேn: ival seytha anaeka paavangal mannikkappattathu; ival mikavum anpukoornthaalae. Evanukkuk konjam mannikkappadukiratho, avan konjamaay anpu kooruvaan entu solli; Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

48 Avalai Nnokki: un paavangal mannikkappattathu entar. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

49 Appoluthu koodap panthiyirunthavarkal: paavangalai mannikkira ivan yaarentu thangalukkullae sollikkonndaarkal. And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

50 Avar sthireeyai Nnokki: un visuvaasam unnai iratchiththathu, samaathaanaththotae po entar. And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
