Psalm 140 in Tamil

1 கர்த்தாவே, பொல்லாத மனுஷனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவியும்; கொடுமையுள்ளவனுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி இரட்சியும். Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

2 அவர்கள் தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் பொல்லாப்புகளைச் சிந்தித்து, யுத்தஞ்செய்ய நாள்தோறும் கூட்டங்கூடுகிறார்கள். Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

3 சர்ப்பத்தைப்போல் தங்கள் நாவை கூர்மையாக்குகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் உதடுகளின்கீழ் விரியன் பாம்பின்விஷம் இருக்கிறது. (சேலா.) They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 கர்த்தாவே, துன்மார்க்கனுடைய கைகளுக்கு என்னை நீங்கலாக்கி கொடியவனுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி இரட்சியும்; அவர்கள் என் நடைகளைக் கவிழ்க்கப் பார்க்கிறார்கள். Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

5 அகங்காரிகள் எனக்குக் கண்ணியையும் கயிறுகளையும் மறைவாய்க் வைக்கிறார்கள்; வழியோரத்தில் வலையை விரித்து, எனக்குச் சுருக்குகளை விரிக்கிறார்கள். (சேலா.) The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

6 நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: நீர் என் தேவன் என்றேன்; கர்த்தாவே, என் விண்ணப்பங்களின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடும். I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7 ஆண்டவராகிய கர்த்தாவே, இரட்சிப்பின் பலனே, யுத்தநாளில் என் தலையை மூடினீர். O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8 கர்த்தாவே, துன்மார்க்கனுடைய ஆசைகள் சித்தியாதபடி செய்யும்; அவன் தன்னை உயர்த்தாதபடி அவனுடைய யோசனையை நடந்தேறவொட்டாதேயும். (சேலா.) Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

9 என்னை வளைந்துகொள்ளுகிறவர்களுடைய உதடுகளின் தீவினைகள் அவர்கள் தலைகளையே மூடுவதாக. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 நெருப்புத்தழல் அவர்கள்மேல் விழுவதாக; அக்கினியிலும், அவர்கள் எழுந்திருக்கக் கூடாத படுகுழிகளிலும் தள்ளப்படுவார்களாக. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 பொல்லாத நாவுள்ளவன் பூமியிலே நிலைப்பதில்லை; கொடுமையான மனுஷனை பறக்கடிக்கப் பொல்லாப்பு அவனை வேட்டையாடும். Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 சிறுமையானவனின் வழக்கையும், எளியவர்களின் நியாயத்தையும் கர்த்தர் விசாரிப்பாரென்று அறிவேன். I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 நீதிமான்கள் உமது நாமத்தைத் துதிப்பார்கள்; செம்மையானவர்கள் உமது சமுகத்தில் வாசம்பண்ணுவார்கள். Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

2 Avarkal thangal iruthayaththil pollaappukalaich sinthiththu, yuththanjaெyya naalthoraுm koottangaூdukiraarkal. Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

3 Sarppaththaippol thangal naavai koormaiyaakkukiraarkal; avarkal uthadukalingeel viriyan paampinvisham irukkirathu. (selaa.) They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Karththaavae, thunmaarkkanutaiya kaikalukku ennai neengalaakki kotiyavanukku ennai vilakki iratchiyum; avarkal en nataikalaik kavilkkap paarkkiraarkal. Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

5 Akangaarikal enakkuk kannnniyaiyum kayiraுkalaiyum maraivaayk vaikkiraarkal; valiyoraththil valaiyai viriththu, enakkuch surukkukalai virikkiraarkal. (selaa.) The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

6 Naan karththarai Nnokki: neer en Dhevan enten; karththaavae, en vinnnappangalin saththaththukkuch sevikodum. I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7 Aanndavaraakiya karththaavae, iratchippin palanae, yuththanaalil en thalaiyai mootineer. O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Karththaavae, thunmaarkkanutaiya aasaikal siththiyaathapati seyyum; avan thannai uyarththaathapati avanutaiya yosanaiyai nadanthaeravottathaeyum. (selaa.) Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

9 Ennai valainthukollukiravarkalutaiya uthadukalin theevinaikal avarkal thalaikalaiyae mooduvathaaka. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Neruppuththalal avarkalmael viluvathaaka; akkiniyilum, avarkal elunthirukkak koodaatha padukulikalilum thallappaduvaarkalaaka. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Pollaatha naavullavan poomiyilae nilaippathillai; kodumaiyaana manushanai parakkatikkap pollaappu avanai vaettaைyaadum. Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 Siraுmaiyaanavanin valakkaiyum, eliyavarkalin niyaayaththaiyum Karththar visaarippaarentu arivaen. I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Neethimaankal umathu naamaththaith thuthippaarkal; semmaiyaanavarkal umathu samukaththil vaasampannnuvaarkal. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
