5 ஆபிராமுடனே வந்த லோத்துக்கும் ஆடுமாடுகளும் கூடாரங்களும் இருந்தன. And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

6 அவர்கள் ஒருமித்துக் குடியிருக்க அந்தப் பூமி அவர்களைத் தாங்கக் கூடாதிருந்தது; அவர்களுடைய ஆஸ்தி மிகுதியாயிருந்தபடியால், அவர்கள் ஒருமித்து வாசம்பண்ண ஏதுவில்லாமற்போயிற்று. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

7 ஆபிராமுடைய மந்தைமேய்பருக்கும் லோத்துடைய மந்தைமேய்ப்பருக்கும் வாக்குவாதம் உண்டாயிற்று. அக்காலத்திலே கானானியரும் பெரிசியரும் அத்தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்தார்கள். And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

8 ஆபிராம் லோத்தை நோக்கி: எனக்கும் உனக்கும், என் மேய்ப்பருக்கும் உன் மேய்ப்பருக்கும் வாக்குவாதம் வேண்டாம்; நாம் சகோதரர். And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

9 இந்தத் தேசமெல்லாம் உனக்கு முன் இருக்கிறது அல்லவா? நீ என்னைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்துபோகலாம்; நீ இடதுபுறம் போனால், நான் வலதுபுறம் போகிறேன்; நீ வலதுபுறம் போனால், நான் இடதுபுறம் போகிறேன் என்றான். Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 அப்பொழுது லோத்து தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்த்து; யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அருகான சமபூமி முழுவதும் நீர்வளம் பொருந்தினதாயிருக்கக் கண்டான். கர்த்தர் சோதோமையும் கொமோராவையும் அழிக்கும்முன்னே, சோவாருக்குப் போம் வழிமட்டும் அது கர்த்தருடைய தோட்டத்தைப் போலவும் எகிப்து தேசத்தைப்போலவும் இருந்தது. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 அப்பொழுது லோத்து யோர்தானுக்கு அருகான சமபூமி முழுவதையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, கிழக்கே பிரயாணப்பட்டுப் போனான்; இப்படி அவர்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் விட்டுப் பிரிந்தார்கள். Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 ஆபிராம் கானான் தேசத்தில் குடியிருந்தான்; லோத்து அந்த யோர்தானுக்கு அருகான சமபூமியிலுள்ள பட்டணங்களில் வாசம்பண்ணி, சோதோமுக்கு நேரே கூடாரம் போட்டான். Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13 சோதோமின் ஜனங்கள் பொல்லாதவர்களும் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக மகா பாவிகளுமாய் இருந்தார்கள். But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

14 லோத்து ஆபிராமைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்தபின்பு, கர்த்தர் ஆபிராமை நோக்கி: உன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, நீ இருக்கிற இடத்திலிருந்து வடக்கேயும், தெற்கேயும், கிழக்கேயும், மேற்கேயும் நோக்கிப்பார். And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15 நீ பார்க்கிற இந்தப் பூமி முழுவதையும் நான் உனக்கும் உன் சந்ததிக்கும் என்றைக்கும் இருக்கும்படி கொடுத்து, For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

16 உன் சந்ததியைப் பூமியின் தூளைப்போலப் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன்; ஒருவன் பூமியின் தூளை எண்ணக்கூடுமானால், உன் சந்ததியும் எண்ணப்படும். And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

17 நீ எழுந்து தேசத்தின் நீளமும் அகலமும் எம்மட்டோ, அம்மட்டும் நடந்து திரி; உனக்கு அதைத் தருவேன் என்றார். Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

5 Aapiraamudanae vantha loththukkum aadumaadukalum koodaarangalum irunthana. And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

6 Avarkal orumiththuk kutiyirukka anthap poomi avarkalaith thaangak koodaathirunthathu; avarkalutaiya aasthi mikuthiyaayirunthapatiyaal, avarkal orumiththu vaasampannna aethuvillaamarpoyittaு. And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.

7 Aapiraamutaiya manthaimaeyparukkum loththutaiya manthaimaeypparukkum vaakkuvaatham unndaayittaு. Akkaalaththilae kaanaaniyarum perisiyarum aththaesaththil kutiyirunthaarkal. And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.

8 Aapiraam loththai Nnokki: enakkum unakkum, en maeypparukkum un maeypparukkum vaakkuvaatham vaenndaam; naam sakotharar. And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

9 Inthath thaesamellaam unakku mun irukkirathu allavaa? Nee ennaivittup pirinthupokalaam; nee idathupuram ponaal, naan valathupuram pokiraேn; nee valathupuram ponaal, naan idathupuram pokiraேn entan. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 Appoluthu loththu than kannkalai aeraெduththup paarththu; yorthaan nathikku arukaana samapoomi muluvathum neervalam porunthinathaayirukkak kanndaan. Karththar sothomaiyum komoraavaiyum alikkummunnae, sovaarukkup pom valimattum athu karththarutaiya thottaththaip polavum ekipthu thaesaththaippolavum irunthathu. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 Appoluthu loththu yorthaanukku arukaana samapoomi muluvathaiyum therinthukonndu, kilakkae pirayaanappattup ponaan; ippati avarkal oruvarai oruvar vittup pirinthaarkal. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Aapiraam kaanaan thaesaththil kutiyirunthaan; loththu antha yorthaanukku arukaana samapoomiyilulla pattanangalil vaasampannnni, sothomukku naerae koodaaram pottan. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13 Sothomin janangal pollaathavarkalum karththarukku munpaaka makaa paavikalumaay irunthaarkal. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

14 Loththu aapiraamaivittup pirinthapinpu, Karththar aapiraamai Nnokki: un kannkalai aeraெduththu, nee irukkira idaththilirunthu vadakkaeyum, therkaeyum, kilakkaeyum, maerkaeyum Nnokkippaar. And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15 Nee paarkkira inthap poomi muluvathaiyum naan unakkum un santhathikkum entaikkum irukkumpati koduththu, For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

16 Un santhathiyaip poomiyin thoolaippolap perukappannnuvaen; oruvan poomiyin thoolai ennnakkoodumaanaal, un santhathiyum ennnappadum. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

17 Nee elunthu thaesaththin neelamum akalamum emmattaோ, ammattum nadanthu thiri; unakku athaith tharuvaen entar. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
