நீங்கள், கோசேன் நாட்டில் குடியிருக்கும்படி, அவனை நோக்கி: எங்கள் பிதாக்களைப்போல, உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்களும் எங்கள் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் மேய்ப்பர்களாயிருக்கிறோம் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்; மேய்ப்பர்கள் எல்லாரும் எகிப்தியருக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள் என்றான்.

அவரிடம் நீங்கள் ‘நாங்கள் மேய்ப்பர்கள், எங்கள் வாழ்க்கை முழுவதும் மேய்ப்பது தான் எங்கள் தொழில். எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களும் மேய்ப்பர்கள்தான்’ என்று சொல்லுங்கள். பிறகு பார்வோன் மன்னன் உங்களை கோசேன் பகுதியில் வாழ அனுமதிப்பார். எகிப்தியர்கள் மேய்ப்பர்களை விரும்பமாட்டார்கள். எனவே நீங்கள் இங்கே கோசேனில் இருப்பதுதான் நல்லது” என்றான்.
