1 Samuel 28:1
થોડા સમય પછી પલિસ્તીઓએ ઇસ્રાએલીઓ સામે લડવા લશ્કર ભેગું કર્યું, અને આખીશે દાઉદને કહ્યું, “તારે તથા તારા માંણસોએ માંરી સાથે સૈન્યમાં આવવું પડશે એમ તારે ખચીત જાણવું.

| Philistines the that | וַיִּקְבְּצ֨וּ | wayyiqbĕṣû | va-yeek-beh-TSOO |
| gathered together | פְלִשְׁתִּ֤ים | pĕlištîm | feh-leesh-TEEM |
| their armies | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| מַֽחֲנֵיהֶם֙ | maḥănêhem | ma-huh-nay-HEM | |
| for warfare, | לַצָּבָ֔א | laṣṣābāʾ | la-tsa-VA |
| to fight | לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם | lĕhillāḥēm | leh-hee-la-HAME |
| Israel. with | בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל | bĕyiśrāʾēl | beh-yees-ra-ALE |
| And Achish | וַיֹּ֤אמֶר | wayyōʾmer | va-YOH-mer |
| said | אָכִישׁ֙ | ʾākîš | ah-HEESH |
| unto | אֶל | ʾel | el |
| David, | דָּוִ֔ד | dāwid | da-VEED |
| Know | יָדֹ֣עַ | yādōaʿ | ya-DOH-ah |
| thou assuredly, | תֵּדַ֗ע | tēdaʿ | tay-DA |
| that | כִּ֤י | kî | kee |
| out go shalt thou | אִתִּי֙ | ʾittiy | ee-TEE |
| with | תֵּצֵ֣א | tēṣēʾ | tay-TSAY |
| battle, to me | בַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה | bammaḥăne | va-ma-huh-NEH |
| thou | אַתָּ֖ה | ʾattâ | ah-TA |
| and thy men. | וַֽאֲנָשֶֽׁיךָ׃ | waʾănāšêkā | VA-uh-na-SHAY-ha |
