Jeremiah 51:62
‘હે યહોવા, તે જાતે જાહેર કર્યું છે કે, આ જગ્યાનો નાશ કરવામાં આવશે, અહીં ફરી કોઇ વાસો કરશે નહિ. માણસ કે પશુ કોઇ નહિ; તે સદાકાળ ઉજ્જડ રહેશે.’

યહોવા કહે છે, “હે બળવાન પર્વત બાબિલ, પૃથ્વીનો નાશ કરનાર, હું તારી વિરુદ્ધ મારો હાથ ઉગામીશ અને તારી ઊંચાઇઓ પરથી તને નીચે ગબડાવીશ, અને અગ્નિથી ભસ્મ થયેલા પર્વત જેવો કરી તને છોડી દઇશ.

તેથી હું ઉત્તરના બધા કુળસમૂહોને અને બાબિલના મારા સેવક નબૂખાદનેસ્સારને તેડાવી મંગાવીશ તેમને હું આ દેશ સામે, એના વતનીઓ સામે અને આસપાસની બધી પ્રજાઓ સામે યુદ્ધ કરવા લઇ આવીશ. હું તેમનું નિકંદન કાઢી નાખીશ અને તેમની એવી હાલત કરીશ જે જોઇને લોકો હેબતાઇ જશે. તેમની હાંસી ઉડાવશે અને હંમેશને માટે તેમની નામોશી થશે.
