Exodus 15:23
પછી તેઓ ‘માંરાહ’ નામની જગ્યાએ આવી પહોંચ્યા પણ ત્યાંના પાણી પણ ના પી શક્યા, કારણ કે તે કડવા હતા. એને લીધે આ જગ્યાનું નામ ‘માંરાહ’ પડયું.

And when they came	וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ	wayyābōʾû	va-ya-VOH-oo
to Marah,	מָרָ֔תָה	mārātâ	ma-RA-ta
could they	וְלֹ֣א	wĕlōʾ	veh-LOH
not	יָֽכְל֗וּ	yākĕlû	ya-heh-LOO
drink	לִשְׁתֹּ֥ת	lištōt	leesh-TOTE
of the waters	מַ֙יִם֙	mayim	MA-YEEM
Marah, of	מִמָּרָ֔ה	mimmārâ	mee-ma-RA
for	כִּ֥י	kî	kee
they	מָרִ֖ים	mārîm	ma-REEM
were bitter:	הֵ֑ם	hēm	hame
therefore	עַל	ʿal	al
	כֵּ֥ן	kēn	kane
name the	קָרָֽא	qārāʾ	ka-RA
of it was called	שְׁמָ֖הּ	šĕmāh	sheh-MA
Marah.	מָרָֽה׃	mārâ	ma-RA
