Genesis 42:24
અને પછી યૂસફ તેઓની પાસેથી ચાલ્યો ગયો અને રડી પડયો. પાછળથી તેઓની પાસે પાછા ફરીને તેણે તેઓની સાથે વાત કરી, પછી તેમનામાંથી શિમયોનને લઇને તેમના દેખતાં જ તેને દોરડે બાંધ્યો.

| and returned | וַיָּ֤שָׁב | wayyāšob | va-YA-shove |
| to | אֲלֵהֶם֙ | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| communed and again, them | וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר | waydabbēr | vai-da-BARE |
| with | אֲלֵהֶ֔ם | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| them, and took | וַיִּקַּ֤ח | wayyiqqaḥ | va-yee-KAHK |
| from them | מֵֽאִתָּם֙ | mēʾittām | may-ee-TAHM |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| Simeon, | שִׁמְע֔וֹן | šimʿôn | sheem-ONE |
| and bound him before | וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֥ר | wayyeʾĕsōr | va-yeh-ay-SORE |
| אֹת֖וֹ | ʾōtô | oh-TOH | |
| their eyes. | לְעֵֽינֵיהֶֽם׃ | lĕʿênêhem | leh-A-nay-HEM |
