તેથી મિસરના રાજાએ દાયણોને બોલાવીને કહ્યું, “તમે આવું શા માંટે કર્યું? તમે લોકોએ છોકરાઓને શા માંટે જીવતા રહેવા દીધા?”

| the midwives, | לַֽמְיַלְּדֹ֔ת | lamyallĕdōt | lahm-ya-leh-DOTE |
| and said | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר | wayyōʾmer | va-YOH-mer |
| Why them, unto | לָהֶ֔ן | lāhen | la-HEN |
| have ye done | מַדּ֥וּעַ | maddûaʿ | MA-doo-ah |
| this | עֲשִׂיתֶ֖ן | ʿăśîten | uh-see-TEN |
| thing, | הַדָּבָ֣ר | haddābār | ha-da-VAHR |
| saved have and | הַזֶּ֑ה | hazze | ha-ZEH |
| וַתְּחַיֶּ֖יןָ | wattĕḥayyênā | va-teh-ha-YAY-na | |
| the men children | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| alive? | הַיְלָדִֽים׃ | haylādîm | hai-la-DEEM |
