Matthew 9:11
ફરોશીઓએ ઈસુને આવા માણસો સાથે ખાતાં જોયો તેથી તેના શિષ્યોને કહ્યું કે, “તમારો ઉપદેશક કર ઉઘરાવનારા તથા પાપીઓ સાથે શા માટે ભોજન લે છે?”

બધા લોકોએ આ જોયું. તેઓએ ફરિયાદ કરવાની શરુંઆત કરી. “જુઓ, ઈસુ કેવા માણસ સાથે રહે છે. જાખ્ખી એક પાપી છે!”

પછી ઈસુ, પિતર, યાકૂબ અને યોહાન બીજા શિષ્યો પાસે ગયા. તેઓએ ઘણા લોકોને તેઓની આજુબાજુ જોયા. શાસ્ત્રીઓ શિષ્યો સાથે દલીલો કરતા હતા.
યશાયા 65:5
“તેમ છતાં તેઓ એકબીજાને કહે છે, ‘મારી વધારે નજીક ન આવશો, નહિ. તો હું તમને પવિત્ર બનાવી દઇશ!’ તેઓ મને ગૂંગળાવે છે; તેઓ મને સતત ક્રોધિત કરે છે.”
