તેમણે બઆલ દેવને માટે યજ્ઞવેદીઓ ઊભી કરી છે. જ્યાં તેઓ પોતાનાં બાળકોની આહુતિ આપે છે. મેં કદી એવી આજ્ઞા કરી જ નથી. એવો કોઇ વિચાર પણ મારા મનમાં કદી આવ્યો જ નથી!”‘

אֶת ʾēt ate
their sons בְּנֵיהֶ֛ם bēn bane
with fire בָּאֵ֖שׁ ʾēš aysh
burnt offerings עֹל֣וֹת ʿōlâ oh-LA
unto Baal, לַבָּ֑עַל baʿal ba-AL
which אֲשֶׁ֤ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
not, לֹֽא lōʾ loh
I commanded צִוִּ֙יתִי֙ ṣāwâ tsa-VA
nor וְלֹ֣א lōʾ loh
spake דִבַּ֔רְתִּי dābar da-VAHR
neither וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
came עָלְתָ֖ה ʿālâ ah-LA
into עַל ʿal al
my mind: לִבִּֽי׃ lēb lave
