તેમણે પોતાનાં પુત્રપુત્રીઓને હોમવા બેન-હિન્નોમની ખીણમાં તોફેથ નામનો યજ્ઞકુંડ બાંધ્યો છે. મેં એવી આજ્ઞા કરી જ નથી, એવો વિચાર સુદ્ધાં મારા મનમાં કદી આવ્યો નથી.”

of Hinnom, הִנֹּ֔ם hinnōm hee-NOME
to burn לִשְׂרֹ֛ף śārap sa-RAHF
אֶת ʾēt ate
and their daughters בְּנֵיהֶ֥ם bat baht
וְאֶת ʾēt ate
their sons בְּנֹתֵיהֶ֖ם bēn bane
in the fire; בָּאֵ֑שׁ ʾēš aysh
which אֲשֶׁר֙ ʾăšer uh-SHER
not, לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
I commanded צִוִּ֔יתִי ṣāwâ tsa-VA
neither וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
came עָלְתָ֖ה ʿālâ ah-LA
it into עַל ʿal al
my heart. לִבִּֽי׃ lēb lave
