ઈસુએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો, “દેવ જે દાન આપે છે તે વિષે તું જાણતી નથી અને તારી પાસે પાણી માંગનાર હું કોણ છું તે પણ તું જાણતી નથી. જો તું આ દાન જાણતી હોત તો તું માગત અને મેં તને જીવતું પાણી આપ્યું હોત.”
