“તેમણે વારાંગનાને અથવા કૌમાંર્ય ગુમાંવેલી કે છૂટાછેડા લીધેલી સ્ત્રીને પરણવું નહિ, કારણ યાજક તો દેવને સમર્પિત થયેલ હોય છે.

“જો કોઈ પુરુષ સ્ત્રીને પરણ્યો હોય, અને તેની સાથે થોડા સમય સંસાર માંડયા બાદ તેનામાં કંઈં શરમજનક હોવાને કારણે તેને તે પસંદ ના હોય તો તેને છૂટાછેડા લખી આપી ઘરમાંથી કાઢી મૂકી શકે.
Isaiah 50:1
યહોવા પૂછે છે, “શુ મેં તમને મારા લેણદારોને વેચી દીધા છે? તેને લીધે શું તમે અહીં આવ્યા નથી? મેં તમારી માતાને છૂટાછેડા આપીને કાઢી મૂક્યાનું ફારગતીપત્ર ક્યાં છે? ના, તમારા અપરાધોને લીધે જ તમે પોતાને વેંચી દીધા હતા અને તમારું દેવું ચૂકવવાને માટે જ તમારી માતાને પણ કાઢી મૂકવામાં આવીં હતી.
1 Timothy 3:11
એ જ રીતે, જે સ્ત્રી સેવામાં છે તે બીજા લોકોની નજરે આદરણીય હોવી જોઈએ. તે સ્ત્રીઓ એવી હોવી ન જોઈએ કે જે બીજા લોકો વિષે ખરાબ નિંદા કરતી હોય. તેઓનામાં આત્મ-સંયમ હોવો જોઈએ અને તેઓ એવી હોવી જોઈએ કે દરેક વાતે એમનામાં વિશ્વાસ મૂકી શકાય.
