સૈન્યોનો દેવે પવિત્ર આત્મા દ્વારા અગાઉના પ્રબોધકોને પ્રેરણા કરી કે તેઓ દેવનાં વચનો અને નિયમશાસ્ત્ર લોકોની આગળ પ્રગટ કરે, પણ તે લોકોએ પોતાના હૃદય વજ્ર જેવા કઠોર બનાવી દીધાં, જેથી પહેલાના પ્રબોધકો મારફતે નિયમો અને સંદેશા સાંભળવા ન પડે. તેથી એમના પર સૈન્યોનો દેવ યહોવાનો ભયંકર કોપ ઉતર્યો.
