ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸೌಲನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ದಂಡುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವೇನಂದರೆ --

Psalm 89:19

ಆಗ ಇಷಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೇಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಕೆಂಪಾದ ಮೈಬಣ್ಣದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಸುಂದರ ಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವ ನಾಗಿಯೂ ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ಚೆಲುವಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ--ನೀನೆದ್ದು ಇವನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸು; ಇವನೇ ಅವನು ಅಂದನು.
