ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹೊಯ್ದು--ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗ ಮಾಡಲಿ; ನಾನು ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಾಣ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಬಹುದೇ? ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಗಳಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ತಂದರಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕುಡಿಯ ಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
