ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಯೆಬೂಸು ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.

ದೇಶ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಯೆಬೂಸ್ಯರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಯೆಬೂಸಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಬೇಡ ಅಂದರು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಚೀಯೋನೆಂಬ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ದಾವೀ ದನು ಹಿಡಿದನು.

ಆಗ ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಗಳಾದ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು ಒಳಗೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲಾರನೆಂದು ಅವರು ನೆನಸಿ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕುರುಡರನ್ನೂ ಕುಂಟರನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕದ ಹೊರತು ನೀನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬರಲಾರಿ ಅಂದರು.

ಚೇಲ, ಎಲೆಫ್, ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು ಇದ್ದಂಥ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಗಿಬೆಯತ್, ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ ಎಂಬ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಅವುಗಳ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳು. ಇವೇ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇರುವ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು.

ಐಗುಪ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗುಂಟಾಗಿರುವ ಸಂಕಟದಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರೂ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯರೂ ಅಮೋರಿಯರೂ ಪೆರಿಜೀಯರೂ ಹಿವ್ವಿಯರೂ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರೂ ಇರುವ ಹಾಲೂ ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು.
