ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹಗಲಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಚಂದ್ರ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ನಿಯಮ ಗಳನ್ನು ರಾತ್ರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಕೊಡುವವನೂ ಅದರ ತೆರೆಗಳು ಘೋಷಿಸುವಾಗ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ವಿಭಾಗಿಸು ವವನೂ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಹೇಳು ವದೇನಂದರೆ--
