Job 22
1 ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--
2 ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕರವಾಗಿರುವನೋ? ಬುದ್ಧಿ ವಂತನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕರವಾಗಿರುವದು ತನಗೆ ಸರಿಯೋ?
3 ನೀನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಬೇಕೋ? ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಲಾಭ ಉಂಟೋ?
4 ನಿನ್ನ ಭಯದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವನೋ?
5 ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ತನವು ಬಹಳವಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಅಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಂತ್ಯ ವಿಲ್ಲವಷ್ಟೇ.
6 ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಂದ ಈಡು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡಿ; ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿರುವವರ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಸುಲುಕೊಂಡಿ.
7 ದಣಿದವನಿಗೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಹಸಿದವನಿಂದ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆ ಗೆದಿದ್ದಿ.
8 ಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಿಗಾದರೋ ದೇಶವು ಅವನದೇ; ಗೌರವದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು.
9 ವಿಧವೆಯರನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಿ; ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದ ವರ ತೋಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಜಜ್ಜಿದಿ.
10 ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಉರುಲುಗಳು ಉಂಟು; ಭಯವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ತಲ್ಲಣಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
11 ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನೀನು ನೋಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕತ್ತಲುಂಟು; ಜಲ ಪ್ರವಾಹವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ.
12 ದೇವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ಎತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ಎತ್ತರ ನೋಡು, ಅವು ಎಷ್ಟು ಉನ್ನತ!
13 ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ--ದೇವರು ಏನು ಬಲ್ಲನು? ಆತನು ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವನೋ?
14 ಮಂದವಾದ ಮೇಘಗಳು ಆತನ ಮರೆ; ಆತನು ನೋಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆತನು ಆಕಾಶ ಮಂಡಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
15 ದುಷ್ಟ ಜನರು ನಡೆದ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದ ದಾರಿ ಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡಿಯೋ?
16 ಅವರು ಆ ಕಾಲ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು; ಅವರ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರವು ಪ್ರವಾಹ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೆದು ಹೋಯಿತು.
17 ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗು ಎಂದೂ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನು ನಮಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವನೆಂದೂ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದವರು ಅವರೇ.
18 ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೇದರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆದರೂ ದುಷ್ಟರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿದೆ.
19 ನೀತಿವಂತರು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವರು. ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಗೇಲಿ ಮಾಡುವನು.
20 ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ತೆಗೆ ಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿ ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ.
21 ಆತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಿತನಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದಿರು; ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೇಲು ಬರುವದು.
22 ಆತನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೋ; ಆತನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ.
23 ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೀನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಂಡರೆ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುವಿ; ನಿನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಂದ ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವವನ್ನು ದೂರ ಮಾಡುವಿ.
24 ಧೂಳಿನಂತೆ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು, ಹಳ್ಳಗಳ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಂತೆ ಓಫಿರ್‌ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕುವಿ.
25 ಆಗ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವನು.
26 ಆಗ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಆನಂದಗೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಖ ವನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಎತ್ತುವಿ.
27 ನೀನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವನು; ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವಿ.
28 ನೀನು ಏನಾದರೂ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗುವದು ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕು ಮೂಡುವದು.
29 ಒಬ್ಬನು ತಗ್ಗುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತುವದುಂಟು ಅನ್ನುವಿ; ದೀನ ನನ್ನು ಆತನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು.
30 ಒಂಟಿಯಾದ ನಿರ ಪರಾಧಿಯನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು; ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳ ಶುದ್ಧತ್ವದಿಂದ ಅವನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
2 Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
4 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
13 And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
15 Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
16 Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
17 Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
18 Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
20 Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
18 And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
