ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ತಾನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮುಂದೆ ನೆಲದಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದರು.
