ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಗಳಿಂದ ನೋಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದೆನು. ಇಗೋ, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಧವೂ ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ ಸಂಪತ್ತೂ ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೀರ್ತಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿರುವದು.

ಆದರೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ--ದೇವರು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸು ವವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರುವಂಥವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಿವಿ ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
