ದಾವೀದನು ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯನ ವಿಷಯ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವಿತದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಲಗದೆ ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ದನು. ಆದರೆ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಅವರ ಜೀವಾಂತ್ಯದ ವರೆಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧಉಂಟಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಆ ಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ--ಊರೀಯನನ್ನು ಘೋರವಾದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ಮುಂದುಗಡೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಹೊಡೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಸಾಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನೀವು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದನು.

ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಮಹಾಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ರೂಪವುಳ್ಳವಳಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಯಾರೆಂದು ಕೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ--ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬನು--ಅವಳು ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲೀಯಾಮನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಯಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಂದನು.
