ಆಗ ಚೀಬನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡುವನು ಅಂದನು. ಅರಸನ ಕುಮಾರ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನು ಭೋಜನ ಮಾಡುವನೆಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಕುಂಟನಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತಡಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕು ಅದರ ಮೇಲೇರಿ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗುವೆನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.

ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ಯರಿದ್ದರು. ಸೌಲನ ಮನೆಯ ಸೇವಕ ನಾದ ಚೀಬನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ತನ್ನ ಹದಿನೈದು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರೂ ತನ್ನ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಯೊರ್ದನನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
