Genesis 24:38
ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ನನ್ನ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂಧುಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಸಾಕನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬೇಕೆಂದೂ ಪರಲೋಕ ಭೂಲೋಕಗಳ ದೇವರಾಗಿ ರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಆಣೆಯಿಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಆಗ ಲಾಬಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಉಣ್ಣೆ ಕತ್ತರಿಸುವದಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ರಾಹೇಲಳು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಕದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಳು.
