ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಸಿಮೆಯೋನನಿಗೂ ಲೇವಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಕಾನಾನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಪೆರಿಜೀಯರಿಗೂ ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳವಳಪಡಿ ಸಿದಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಂದಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು, ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವರು. ಆಗ ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗುವೆವು ಅಂದನು.

ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ--ನಾನು ಎಂದಿಗಾದರೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಸೌಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಮಡಿದುಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವ ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಸೌಲನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ದಿಕ್ಕು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋಗುವನು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡನು.
2 ಸಮುವೇಲನು 10:6
ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಾವು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ವಾದೆವೆಂದು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರು (ದೂತರನ್ನು) ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬೇತ್ರೆಹೋಬ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಚೋಬಾದ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಇಪ್ತತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳಾದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಅರಸನಾದ ಮಾಕನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಇಷ್ಟೋಬ್ನಿಂದ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಲಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.

ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು--ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳವಳಪಡಿಸು ವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡುವದರಿಂದಲೇ; ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದಿ.

ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಾಂಗವಾಗ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು, ನೀನು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವಾಗಿರುವಿ.
