ಕಲ್ನೆಗೆ ಹಾದುಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮಹಾ ಹಮಾತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಗಾತಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿರಿ; ಅವು ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವು ಗಳೇನು? ಅವುಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದೋ?

ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಕೂತಾ ಅವ್ವಾ ಹಮಾತ್ ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಬದ ಲಾಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿದನು. ಇವರು ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದರು.

ಅವನು ಇವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಗತ್ ಊರಿನ ರಣವೀರನಾದ ಗೊಲ್ಯಾತನೆಂಬ ಆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಸೈನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು; ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
