Genesis 47:1
ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಬಂದು ಫರೋಹನಿಗೆ-- ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುರಿ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ತಮಗಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕಾನಾನ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ಅವರು ಗೋಷೆನ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಗೋಷೆನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ದನ ಕುರಿಗಳೂ ನಿನಗಿದ್ದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನನ್ನ ಸವಿಾಪ ದಲ್ಲಿರಬೇಕು;

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಗೋಷೆನಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ತೋರಿ ಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಗೋಷೆನ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 45:16
ಯೋಸೇಫನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಫರೋಹನ ಮನೆಯವರು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಫರೋಹನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ ಅದು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಗೋಷೆನ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರು ವಂತೆ ನೀವು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಚಿಕ್ಕಂದಿನಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸರಾದ ನಾವೂ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳೂ ಮಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳ ಬೇಕು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕುರಿಕಾಯುವವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯ ರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅಂದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೇ ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನೆಂದು ನೀನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಗೋಷೆನ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಣಗಳು ಇರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸುವೆನು.
