ಆಗ ಶೆಯಲ್ತೀಯೇಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾ ಬೆಲನೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಚಾದಾಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರೆ ಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಹಗ್ಗಾಯನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿದರು; ಜನರು ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಆತನ ಸೇವ ಕನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಬೆಳಕಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆ ಯುವವನು ಯಾರು? ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.

ಆಗ ಅವನು --ಹುಡಗನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕಬೇಡ; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯ ಪಡುತ್ತೀಯೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತೆಗೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.

ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೆಣಿಸದೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವೆಂದೇ ತಿಳಿದು ಅಂಗೀ ಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾವಂತೂ ಎಡೆಬಿಡದೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತಾಸ್ತುತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಅದು ನಂಬುವವರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ನಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೀ ಮಾತಾಗಿ ಬಾರದೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಹು ನಿಶ್ಚಯತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಂತೆಂಬದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎಂಥವರಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದೆವೆಂಬದನ್ನು ನೀವೂ ತಿಳಿದಿ ದ್ದೀರಿ.

ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಗಂಡಸರನ್ನೂ ಹೆಂಗಸರನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಗಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಲಿತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸು.
