Isaiah 22:9
ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಕೋಟೆಯ ಒಡಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಳವೆಂದು ಸಹ ನೋಡುತ್ತೀರಿ; ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಕೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ.

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೂ ಇವುಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯೂ ಆದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತನಗಾಗಿ ಜಯಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.

ಈ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಗೀಹೋನೆಂಬ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕಾಲುವೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಕಾಲುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದಿ ದನು.
